When reflecting on my own educational experiences, I appreciate the immense

impact that teachers make on the lives of young people, therefore I would like to do
the same. I have a strong ambition to become a successful teacher and to achieve
this I would like to apply for the BA (Hons) Primary Education with Qualified Teacher
Status. This course is perfect for me as I will show real commitment and passion to
pursue a career in primary teaching.
Teaching interests me as I want to become a role model that encourages young
people to open their minds; notice their strengths and weaknesses and assist them to
overcome them. I have a strong interest in the growth mindset of children and I
would like to learn more about the way young people develop.
I am suitable for the course as I am a dedicated student who puts in their all to
achieve my ambitions. Over the past year, I have been attending a local primary
school once a week to support classes in the role of a teaching assistant, to both KS1
and KS2. I thoroughly enjoyed going weekly as I got to work closely with the
classroom teacher and distinguish the hard work but to also notice how rewarding
the career can be. I overlooked how the children developed when overcoming
challenges and supported them when learning new methods that they may not
have been able to get their heads around.
My A-level studies consist of Media, Drama, and Sociology. These courses have
nurtured my skills to continue my dream of teaching. Sociology has enabled me to
create a wider understanding of society as a whole but on a smaller scale such as
inside the family. Since studying sociology I looked into the topic of Education which
I found particularly interesting as I learned the different factors affecting children
and their achievement at school. I understand how many factors such as family,
Government and the school all influence children's achievement and their own
school experiences. Drama has enabled my confidence to grow which I can use in
my teaching career to be able to project my voice and be confident speaking in
front of people. My A-level studies have allowed me to gather skills such as analysis,
evaluation, independent research and the ability to think creatively.
I have completed my Bronze Duke Of Edinburgh, this was a big achievement for me
as I learned many skills over the experience. I learned how to persevere and how to
work efficiently within a team this was proven when we lost our way on the map. I
showed great leadership when taking charge of my group to get everyone to work
together to complete the award. In my spare time, I commit to my part-time jobs
where I interact with families and children, I work in a family-friendly restaurant where
I manage a selection of tables and ensure they have the best experience with us as
possible.
Overall I enjoy the interaction with children on their level, gaining insight into their
perceptions and how they see the world. I believe that my enthusiasm for a
teaching career epitomises me as a credible and ideal candidate for this course.
With my passionate, dedicated and hard-working attitude, and my analytical,
logical approach to working, I believe that my position on this course will have a
positive impact on future generations of children as the position will no doubt have a
positive impact on me.
