PARENTS

LOYAL MOTIVATION FOCUSED

PATIENCE SACRIFICE MENTAL COACH

Being the parent of an athlete takes commitment just like any other valuable
member of our program. You will be asked to be the mental coach to your son and
given tools to accomplish this. We need to work together to make our athletes the
best people they can be. Their devotion and loyalty to the program will mirror your
dedication to what we are doing. We chose to be a part of something special, lets
make sure all that we do is directed toward the next step.
Being the parent of an athlete myself, I have found many valuable resources and
ideas that have made the process more enjoyable and satisfying. I will present an
opportunity for you to glean from others experiences and take the role that you
must play on our team to another level. You will be asked to look at your approach
to athletics and competition in ways that you may not have previously. One of your
tasks is to preach and encourage effort. You will also be asked to promote routine
and encourage your athlete to be prepared. Awareness of our schedule and
assistance in attendance and punctuality is equally important. Scheduling of
appointments and family events should be done around our master schedule.
You have entrusted us to instill life skills and we do not take this request lightly. You
should expect that every coach will perform with integrity and honesty. We coach
every day with one thought in mind, “Am I a better football coach today than I was
yesterday?” It is our goal that each athlete improves both on and off the field. Not
every athlete will progress at the same level and this is an important concept to
grasp. Personal goals at the beginning of each practice will help focus the athlete to
aspire to be the best they can be. Maturity and role acceptance is the single most
important piece to the complex puzzle that is a team sport.

What you can expect:

 A staff that will NOT take the title “coach” lightly.
 Every athlete will be pushed to be the best they can be as a player and a
person.
 Life Skills will be the focus of everything we do. We respect the football field
as a classroom in which we can instill and promote our program MVP.

What we need from you:

 Support the program however you feel comfortable. Everyone should have a
role.
 Let the coaches “coach”. Don’t contradict what is being taught on the field.
 Be the mental coach of our athletes.
 Explore and promote the importance of “routines”.
