Upon completion of the course, students should be able to:

planning in sustaining a competitive advantage in a globalised
environment.
2. Analyse the environmental issues affecting the organisation and
propose appropriate strategic concepts and principles for strategic
choice, implementation, control and management of business
processes.

applied in different business life cycles.

Group Assignment Brief


Assignment
(60% marks As a team, identify ONE (1)company (Malaysian based OR International based
allocation) companies) that has decided to operate in international environment.

Discuss and analyse the firm drivers or incentives that motivates the company to
expand internationally.

You are required to analysethe challenges encountered by the firm in the new
market they have entered.

The chosen company should be established within 15 years andhad at least


operated in one host country (international operation) apart from their home
country.

The applications of theoretical concepts and principles are required whilst


discussing the company.

Students may choose companies only from the industries listed below:
a)E-commercee e ) Tourism

Format & Deadline for Group Assignment

i. Each team may have a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 5 members.

ii. Assignment must be typed written in Times New Roman font, sized 11, and
at 1.5 line spacing.
iii. The assignment is limited to a maximum of 4,000 words excluding
appendices, tables, charts and references. A penalty of 10% of the marks for
that piece of work will be deducted from those pieces of work that exceed
the requirement by 10% or more.

For late submission, there will be a reduction of absolute marks from the mark’s
score submitted:
 Late 1 to 3 days after deadline of submission: minus 10 marks;
 Late 4 to 7 days after deadline of submission: minus 20 marks;

Referencing
Students are required to record all sources of information used in the assignment
through proper referencing. Reference citation is to follow TARUC’s Harvard
referencing system.

i. Each student is required to produce an essay on the selected topic


independently.
