SESSION/TOPIC: Investiture Ceremony TIME ALLOCATION: 1.5 HOUR

GOALS/OBJECTIVES: At the end of the session, the participants are expected to:
1.know the meaning and its significance of the investiture candles;
2.demonstrate the investiture ceremony;
3.internalize the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

STRATEGIES
A. OPENER
Guess the Promise Circle: Have
the trainees sit in a circle in Games Marlie Arsolon- Improvised Spinner
10 squatting position. Each trainee Bautro
must think of a promise they
would like to act out for the
other trainees. For instance, if
the trainee’s promise is to keep
his body healthy, she could
pretend and act like she is
exercising. Remind the trainees
no to speak. A pointer will be
spinned, when it stops the one
pointed by the blackened end
will act out her promise. The rest
of the trainees will guess her
promise. Trainee who correctly
guess the promise gets a price.
 Continue playing until every at
least 5 of the trainees gets a turn.

B. DEVELOPMENT OF THE TOPIC

30 minutes purpose; introduce the materials
to be used for an investiture
ceremony and have the trainees
familiarized the symbols each
candle is representing for.

C. APPLICATION
The facilitator predetermine Demo method
the trainees’ rule in their
investiture ceremony Marlie Arsolon-Bautro
40 hours demonstration randomly through
fishball technique and then, let
them demonstrate it.

D. SUMMING-UP/CLINCHER
Let the trainees reveal the Meaningful
missing phrase “scout me in” hidden in Learning Method Power point
10 minutes a paper using candle light to complete presentation
the line “From now on,
_____________!” to yell their
willingness to commit their life in
scouting Promise and Law.
