This game to check students understanding because in the end of game the teacher
can see who understood the lesson and who did not.

Reflection:
This lesson was at Ahmed Bin Zayed primary school where the lesson provided to students was a
science lesson in two classes , 1 D and 1C . The start was after students came in from another class, I
asked them to stand a little at the door, then I asked them to come on the carpet, starting from group 1 to
group 5. Next, I made the daily routine. Then I started introducing the hook and the introduction for
around 15 minutes, the activities 15 minutes and finally 15 minutes for both the assessment and the
conclusion .in this reflection, there is an overview bout the lesson.
This lesson dealt with an outcome that was LOs that was,” Students will be able to: classify and
compare animals exactly, Mammals and Birds and here I classified students into groups according to
their levels and that agrees with Vygotsky where he mentioned that each student has a different level,
so I put each student in his or her correct level. Besides, I used both types of reinforcement according
to Skinner positive and negative reinforcement and that for controlling students behaviour where
positive good behaviour when they do the activity and follow the instructions where I used Class Dojo
to add points to encourage them and even the same method for students who had bad behaviour and
that through taking out some points from them and to be changed when they do well . Besides at the
end of the week, I give students a certificate that is,” The Week Star “and to be sent to the child’s mum
on the class Dojo . In addition, I fooled a scaffolding method by Vygotsky that was through more
support to students through giving some words on the word as mammals and birds in Arabic and
English and prepared a schedule for them and that all worked well.
The unit of the lesson was about animas but internally related to comparing between mammals and
birds and that all was connected with the main objectives including time management by using timer, ,
controlling students behaviour by using class dojo and improving students comprehension by using
student’s attention. Here students need to know the differences and similarities between mammals
and birds. The lesson here that lesson related to another lesson where it was a general lesson that
was,” Four types of animals including reptiles and amphibians.
Actually, the lesson was for classes 1C and 1 D for both boys and girls together where the lesson was
done in the classroom where my own aim to achieve is the main differences between both mammals
and birds Consequently, I provided students with translating the words and added some pictures to
them and write them in Arabic and more than that asking students what mammals were and what brds
were and so on .
Students engaged in hands on activities where during the activity they were greatly occupied as I gave
them a positive reinforcement on class dojo , they did their best to get the points and that according to
Skinner positive reinforcement is important . Actually the activity was widely interesting, so the
students liked it and even they were motivated by the points of the class dojo. Students had a prior
understanding for the animals as they went to the zo before and even I gave them a story the week
before about animals, so they had a prior experience about the activity.
The students managed to understand and learn the activity and where that was clear as they did the
activity and were even enthusiastic and also I explained what they have to do with the activity .
Consequently, the lesson met the teaching goals as I used a timer and I divided the time upon the
activities and for the conclusion, I made a review and that in their books and plickers games for the
assessment as an individual game through which I gave them five questions in the game and after each
question I can check their answers
This lesson can be supported in the future through using more hands on activities and that through
hoping to develop their creativity and critical thinking and even I have a plan to develop them through
giving them more examples and for me I will read a lot on the shortest ways that mange students to
learn better .
