Essential Question What were some political, social, and


economic changes that happened during the
New South?

Standards of Excellence and ISTE Standards for economic changes that occurred in Georgia
Students: during the New South Era.

Objectives I will use technology to solidify the


concepts of political, social, and economic
changes that were experienced in Georgia.

Construction Paper and Markers

Technology Uses First, the construction paper and markers


will be used to create a timeline. The IPad
and the TouchCast will be used when
explaining crucial parts of the timeline. The
TouchCast can create little videos that pop
up when you stop on a point to explain that
part of the timeline. This is an interactive
way to give a visual and audio
representation of what you are learning.

The Oculus Rift would be used to do


another version of the timeline. We'd use
the Timescope downloadable game. It's an
interactive game that allows you to do
timelines in depth.

Evaluation/Assessment (formative and Formative: Throughout the activity, I will

I may need to touch on, or if this lesson
worked at all with my students.

Which way would you rather teach this I would rather teach this lesson with infusion
lesson? Minimal technology or infusion
of technology? Why? of technology.

You can still do a lot with minimal technology


but being able to have a high amount of
technology makes it easier to create more
advanced lessons. The infusion of technology
allows the teacher to touch on all types of
learning styles.
