CHAPTER-I : INTRODUCTION

1.1 : CONCEPTUALL FRAMEWORK-:

This is a time when mist of the population have smartphone or laptop or any other medium of
using internet and it is being important to have any of these tool as it has become a necessity for
many people. Now it has importance for education also to access things which is available
online. There are many books, videos test series and pdf are available that can be access very
easily online.

Online education platforms are the medium of learning using internet. It is also called
LMS(learning management system). It is available for every student for lots of courses. We can
get syllabus of 1st class to post graduation and all competitive exams on online platforms. There
are many features provided by these platforms to their users. We can find the videos of classes
and pdf files also. There are test series also available for practice on these platforms. These
platform also provide doubt season to solve the issues of students.

There are two type of services provided by these platforms like paid and unpaid. Paid services
are much profitable than unpaid.

We can find lots if website and applications facilitating online education like byjus, wifi study,
hitbulleyes, unacademy etc. YouTube is also a medium of education. Many channels are there on
Youtube like online guruji, study iq, wifi study and many more.

Theses platforms are very helpful for students where they don’t need to pay money on coaching
classes. This concept was developed to remove the problems of old education system and now
this way of study is preferred by many students. It has removed problems related to time and
money both. You do not need to adjust your timing any more.

It is profitable for not only students but also for job seekers. This system has generated lots of
employment with good salary.
1.2 : REVIEW OF LITERATURE-:

 Trisha Dowerah Baruah (2011) This paper aims to find out the impact and

assessment of E-learning Technologies on student retention in ODL system .

For the purpose of assessing the impact of E-Learning technologies on student

retention Indira Gandhi National Open University(IGNOU) has been taken as a

model university and IGNOU Regional centre, Guwahati as a case study to find

out the implication of E-Learning on student retention.

 Doug Valentine (2002), Distance Learning and its relationship to the emerging

computer technologies have together offered many promises to the field of

education. This paper examines some of the current research and thought on the

promises, problems, and the future possibilities in modern distance learning,

particularly types that are delivered via electronic means.

 Lalita Rajasingham (2011), The paper examines potential challenges of new

educational approaches within the framework of more traditional open learning

and e-learning environments. The main challenge is to develop a university that

shifts the paradigm from the conventional national university to a sustainable

global learning system that maintains quality in teaching, learning, processing

and applying knowledge to real-life problems in diverse cultural contexts .

 Manoj Killedar (2009) , Evidence indicates that application of the proposed

model for „Total Quality‟ and „Web Technology‟ can simultaneously optimize
quality, access and cost. Thus, a better learning experience can be provided

even in open and distance education system, which can be comparable with the

best. This study found that, regarding economy in time and money utilization,

„Virtual Classroom‟ is not more effective than the „Traditional Classroom‟.

1.3 : RATIONAL OF THE STUDY

Online education has become a viable and exciting method for instructional delivery in the
global business society that runs on a 24/7 schedule because it provides students with great
flexibility.

With the increased availability of the Internet and computer technology, students are able to
access information anytime and anyplace that would normally be available only through a
traditional classroom

The purpose of this research is to compare traditional and online education system. The research
is a way to compare the benefits and problems in both of the education system.

1.4 : RESEARCH OBJECTIVE

The objectives of particular study are:-
