Since time immemorial, societies have been non-static dynamics, which has guaranteed
man their permanence in time and space. We have had to live in a society that, thanks to
several factors, including computer science and technology, is so dynamic that it moves by
leaps and bounds.
Thanks to computer science we can produce more qualified human resources, by inserting
computers in the classroom, talking about education is talking about computer science.
With the conviction that the school must be a mobilizing space for intellectual capacity,
creativity and the innovative sense of general knowledge, the use of information
technology is essential to achieve this goal.
The technologies allow us to provide students with an interactive education stimulating
the production of knowledge, producing a total integration of knowledge, students can
benefit from the use of the computer in the classroom even in remote places, every day
more teaching centers are connected to Internet.
Now, computer science is the science of automated information, everything that has to do
with data processing, using computers or automatic information processing equipment.
Educational informatics is the branch of computer science applied to the teaching-learning
process at all levels and modalities of education, thus joining the educational task,
technological innovation and pedagogy. The computer is the tool that is given to the
student to study and experiment within the educational process, while the computer
resource allows the application of technology at any stage of the learning processes, as
well as in any area of knowledge; Its application to education should be planned based on
methodological strategies coordinated by areas and grades. The goal is to facilitate in the
student the transition between the student as a passive subject that only receives
information and the active subject that is capable of being a knowledge creator.
We are currently experiencing a revolution in information, but living this revolution implies
the need for knowledge that allows the technology to be implemented properly. It is vitally
important for teachers of any educational institution to be able to use this tool effectively,
for this it is necessary to stop seeing the computer as an element outside the educational
process and that only a few privileged.
Educational informatics can be used as a support for teaching in order to stimulate various
senses of the subject that makes learning possible. It can also be the medium that allows
immediate communication with the student. It is the vehicle through which teaching
action can be approached to students regardless of borders, distances or barriers. The
work of the teacher will never be substituted because the computer science is a tool with
which the educational process can be operated but the previous design, the planning and
the strategy to be used will be in charge of the educational expert and the professional
(sometimes they are the same person even though is not always like that). In this process
where the teaching action is combined, the didactic strategy and educational informatics
brings with it a richer and more varied learning.
Computer science directly influences the cognitive process, because it enhances each of
the phases of knowledge, stimulates intellectual development, increases vocabulary,
improves quality of care, enhances the mastery of language among others.
It should be noted that At this crucial point of the knowledge revolution, the internet is
increasingly present in everyday life, whereby the computer is becoming the main means
of communication, for educational purposes technology allows the elimination of barriers
such as distance and the weather. The handling of the necessary tools to use the new
technologies is really simple and easy to understand.
