Syrian people perspective:

Syrian conflict revolves around the opposition of the government by the Syrian rebels. In January
2011, there were peaceful and minor uprisings in the country but soon in march 2011, these turned
into massive protests with anti-government demonstrations and an increasing no. of causalities.

Demands started rising after Assad came into power.

In the presidential inauguration:

Assad promised to bring human rights and political reforms in the country, but there wasn’t much of
a change when he was elected as president. Rather Assad is violating human rights by using chemical
weapons to attack civilians.

In 2007, there was an election to confirm the presidential candidate with no political parties from
the opposition. Human right groups claimed that Assad’s political opponents were imprisoned,
tortured and killed.

Soon such events that happened in Syria evoked protests demanding for revolution, less corruption
and demanding to release the imprisoned political opponents.

By the 6th month of over 2000 people were killed due to the use of chemical weapons. As the no. Of
deaths increased the no. of refugees escaping to other countries increased too.

Assad not only violated human rights but he also couldn’t keep the country stable and as Syria was a
totalitarian country it was difficult for a private sector to emerge.

Government’s perspective:
On the other hand, Syria isn’t one of the worst countries, where their own citizens are tortured.
Assad provided the country with essential things for survival like free education and health care.

Although, the condition was dreadful in the country, there were no foreign debts on Syria, so this
wasn’t a burden for them. Yes, there are other demands that Assad has to satisfy apart from this, he
stated in one of his interviews that the Syrian government will change, but they just needed more
time.

Despite this, the Syrian rebels who started with protests have turned into a terrorist organization
called ISIS. This group’s intention is to spread Islamic fundamentalism and invade countries. Assad is
trying to defeat the ISIS, and if he steps down from his position, the ISIS would takeover and Syria
would become a radical Muslim country. Totalitarianism is better than Islamic fundamentalism.

The free Syrian army attack civilians, hospitals, health care facilities and food supplies of the
refugees. This movement has forced half the population of Syria to flee to other countries.
Civilians within the country are more frightened of the FSA than the Assad’s use of chemical
weapons. About 55% of Syrians in the country want Assad to stay.

The government’s use of chemical weapons is to depopulate the ISIS in Syria and their objective is
not to attack the innocent in the country. The government wanted to clear out civilians in rebel-held
zones and using chemical weapons is a part of their strategy to defeat the ISIS.

So, one of the possible solution is that Assad could defeat the ISIS and introduce the reforms that he
promised to bring in the country.

Syria’s situation as it exists today is not particularly because of Assad and his regime, it also because
of the FSA who is a major threat to Syria.

 Why drugs are illegal in the world:-

-if drugs are legal and so easily available then everyone would consume it and become
addicted to it. So if the whole world is addicted, then they won’t be able to control it

-all supplies of drugs has to go through the government and the police first, so to sell the
drugs to public they would have to bribe the corrupt officers and pay them high amounts of
money. But if it is made legal, they wouldn’t have to bribe the government, they can just
directly sell it to the public. By this the government, gets a lot of profit

-In European countries, they are aware that many use drugs so they give these small
directories along with the drugs, about the maximum dosage that can be consumed, the
chemicals in it so that the person can see if they are allergic or not. But this does not mean
that it is legal.

 Cancer is curable and it costs an shit ton of money, so pharmaceuticals induce cancer in the
normal tablets like crocin and aspirin we consume, so we get cancer, go to the hospital and
pay them money for treatment.

-pharmaceuticals and hospitals are allies

-another reason why they do this is because students have to pay about 1 crore to become a
doctor and if people are healthy and not sick, how are they going to get the money back, so
they intend to make more people sick, so they pay the doctors for treatment.

-due to this reason they farmers are made to use pesticides on their crops and the chemicals
inside the crops can be harmful. This is to make us sick through the food we consume.

 In US, the population has a large no. of obese people, this is because healthy food is more
expensive than fast food, and so poor people tend to buy the fast food more than the
healthy food. This makes them obese and attain diabetes...etc – this leads them to go to
hospitals- profit
