THE RELATION OF LEARNING STYLES WITH GRADE POINT AVERAGE (GPA)

ABSTRACT

Background : Learning achievement is the indicator to adjust of the succeed

students on learning process. The Student learning achievement is affected by
several factor there is learning achievement factor (learning styles). Good
achievement can be reflected a good learning styles because knowing and
understanding the best learning styles would be help the students to learn
comprehensively The learning achievement can be known after do an evaluations.
The result from evaluations can be shown the progress or regress of student learning
achievement.
Objective : The study is aimed to understand the relation of learning styles with
Grade Point Average (GPA) on student grade III Bachelor of Nursing Programme
Faculty of Health Sciences University of Muhammadiyah Cirebon.
Method : Methodology is presented by using The Description Correlation Design
with Cross Sectional approaches. The sample was taken by 30 respondents. Data
was collected by using an instrument of learning style based on David Kolb.
Sampling techniques used a total sampling. Data was analyzed on this study by
using FisherTest.
Result : Based on the result from Fisher Test, data obtained p value = 0,01 (p value
< 0,05) which is an Ha acceptance and showed there is a relation between learing
styles with Grade Point Average (GPA) on student grade III Bachelor of Nursing
Programme Faculty of Health Sciences University of Muhammadiyah Cirebon.
Conclusion : The result concluded that a major students had a diverger learning
styles than assimilator, converger and accommodator learning sytels. Meanwhile to
achievement, a several students had a satisfactory learning achievements. So ther is a
significant relation between between learing styles with Grade Point Average (GPA)
on student grade III Bachelor of Nursing Programme Faculty of Health Sciences
University of Muhammadiyah Cirebon.
