V. COMMUNITY INITIATED EFFORTS

 Full implementation of Solid Waste Management Segregation Scheme starts on July

2015
 Launching of Barangay Sta. Teresita Clean-up Drive every 2 nd and 4th Saturday of each
month.
 Donation of supplies and materials for the repair of street lights and painting of gutters
 Donation of relief goods for the affected families

VI. CONCLUSION

Based on the study conducted, the following conclusions can be drawn:

 The low elevation of Mayon near corner Dapitan Street makes it a catch basin of flood
waters from nearby barangays

 Poor drainage system along Dapitan near corner Mayon , Kanlaon and Dr. Alejos Streets
.

VII. RECOMMENDATIONS:

 Promote the full participation of each household and business establishments in the
barangay.

 Strict implementation of the law on solid waste management should be imposed

 Regular clean-up drive within the barangay especially of flood prone areas

 Massive Information Dissemination on Solid Waste Management Act of 2000

 Rehabilitation of drainages along Kanlaon and Dr. Alejos , there is already an ongoing
rehabilitation along Dapitan Street from Mayon to Blumentritt Street.
