3. Tell me something about yourself.

Answer: I am Vinaykumar Sudani from Surat. I have done my schooling from Surat, then
moved to Anand for my under graduation where I completed B.E. Mechanical Engineering
from GCET. And at present pursuing my MBA with Marketing as major and Operations as
minor. I have always been in top 5 during my entire education journey and hence also
achieved frequent scholarships. I have done my summer internship at Matrix Cellular
International Services Ltd., Ahmedabad with a role offered as Sales executive. Apart from
academia, I like to spend my leisure time in cooking and book reading. I also write short
poems and shaayaries. I also love to be part of different social services. I was a member of
an NGO ‘Bachhpan’ during my B.E. days. At present I volunteer as a scribe for blind
people’s different examinations.

4. Why do you want to apply for this role?

Answer. First time I encountered the market research work during our second term subject
Research Methodology where I got chance to perform a real time market research. Also
during my internship I further got chance to spend a little bit of time for market research.
Then I continued to develop an interest in this area and also done some certifications
especially for Data Analytics. And hence I would like to pursue my career with this role.

5. Why do you want to apply for this company? (I have written the answer for
company EXL Analytics’)

Answer: A person like me would look for few things like company’s position in market,
Employee care at company, opportunities etc. The EXL Analytics is one of the leading firm
in its operation area. Also as I was willing to pursue my career with market research and
data analytics role so I contacted a person who is working for EXL Analytics and he is also
an alumni of IMNU. From him I learn about company work culture and environment, which
I thought I can be part of. And hence I am applying for this company.

6. What are your short term and long term goals?


Answer: In a short run I would like to be a part of a leading analytics firm where I can get
in depth knowledge of Data analytics, which will help me to shape my future career by
enhancing my subject matter expertise.

In a daily changing era of today’s world, I don’t think to make plan for future of 10 years
or onwards is feasible. So right now, I don’t see any plan for a long run after 10 to 15 years.
But maybe I can adopt my hobby of cooking and book reading as my profession.

7. Why should we hire you?

Answer: Multi-tasking has always been a core strength of mine. Like at present in spite of
a busy schedule of MBA, I am part of two different clubs: Club XQuizIt and Nirmaan. Also
frequently I volunteer as a scribe for Blind People’s different examinations. Ability to learn
quickly is another strength of mine. As I always believe in a philosophy that to not know
something is absolutely fine but after knowing it to not learn is very dangerous for growth.
So I always believe in learning new things. This can also be seen from my academic career.
Apart from that I have always been try to be part of extracurricular activities. This has
helped me to develop most important skills of corporate work culture like team working,
leadership skills etc.

8. Mention your 2 weaknesses and how are you working on them.

Answer: I am a little bit short tempered and get angry especially when people don’t value
time. That means when someone comes late in meeting or misses the deadline of task. But
I have started working on it by adopting relaxation techniques like deep breathing and songs
murmuring etc. Another weakness of mine is that I am an impatient listener, about which I
came to know from my friends. I have also started improving on it by technique like taking
a pose etc.

9. What are your biggest achievements?

Answer: I achieved scholarships of Rs. 25,000 for two consecutive years at Institute of
management, Nirma University. I have always been in top 5 throughout my academic
journey. Recently, I have successfully achieved Green belt of Lean Six Sigma.

10. Describe about your extracurricular activities.

Answer: At IMNU, I am a member of club XQuizIt: the knowledge hub of IMNU. Under
which we organises different quiz competitions ranging from Intra College to national
level. We also prepare Placement Gyaan of a company appearing for campus placements,
to help our batch mates. Also I am a member of club Nirmaan: the social club of IMNU,
under which we work towards upliftment of underprivileged children of nearby slums.

I also volunteer as a scribe for blind people’s different examinations. I also write short
poems and shaayaries in my leisure time.

11. What is your biggest failure?

Answer: After 12th Science, I scored 133 in my JEE Main entrance examination which was
a very good score at that time. This made me so overconfident that I completely ignore the
practice for JEE Advance and lost the biggest opportunity of my life to get entry in IITs or
NITs. But this taught me a lifelong lesson that no matter how big achiever you are, always
be grounded. Know the thin line separating confidence from over confidence.

12. Describe one situation where you lead a group or worked in a team.

Answer: Recently, we, the club XQuizIt, organised a national level open quiz festival
“SYZYGY”, a two day quiz fest having five different quizzes. We were a team of 15 people
to organise the event. Total 400+ teams of two participated across the India. To manage
such a huge crowd and successfully complete an event having budget of 3, 00,000 is itself
an achievement for me.

17. Do you have any gap year in your academics?

Answer: Yes, A gap of a year to prepare for CAT after B.E.

18. Where did you intern and what were the project deliverables?
Answer: I interned with Matrix Cellular International Services Ltd. The project was “to
generate B2B and B2C leads while maintaining current customer base”. Here, for first
month my task was to generate 60 individual and 12 corporate leads weekly and redirect
them to sales team. For second month, my role changed to field sales agent where my job
was to deal with clients. I achieved 89% of conversion rate by the completion of internship.

19. Tell us more about the company and sector.

Answer: Matrix is a single stop international travel solution providing company operating
since 1995 having a net worth of 100 crore as of 2018. At present company is more focusing
on its two premium products international SIM cards and Forex cards. As well as they are
transforming to App based service.

20. Top 3 learnings from the internship.

Answer: 1. never say no to any kind of work assigned by superiors. 2. At organisation no


one will tell you what you have to do. It’s our responsibility to learn and perform tasks
assigned to us. 3. We cannot control what our listener listen, they can misunderstand our
conversation, but then it’s our duty to calm them down and behave maturely.
