Lesson1: What are the parts of the plant .

 Misconceptions for learners: Student does not know what the plant is - Find difficulty to say
the names of parts of the plant.
Ways of identifying and addressing these misconceptions: show students in real how plant
look like - Sing a song that would make the vocab more easy, they will remember the words and
they will enjoy it.

The content: flower- stem – leaves – roots- fruit


The teacher will start the 4 linked lessons with Parts of the plant, the aim is that students will be
able to identify and describes the parts of the plant. (Flower, stem, leaves and roots).
Teacher will take the students to the garden of the school so students can observe real plant and
trees and how they have different type of plants and sizes. Teacher influenced the student to be
interested in learning when teacher changes the routine. Teacher will let students repeat the
vocabulary words after her several times, student will sing a song of (flower, stem, leaves and
roots)

5e’s: ( engaging)
The teacher use first lesson by letting student observe the real plant outside which will make
them interested on learning and engaged. The teacher use link to prior knowledge to connect it to
this lesson which was that plants are living things. Teacher will use oral questioning about the
parts of the plant.

Essential Question:
 How do plant parts help plants?

Guide Questions:
 What are the parts of the plant?
 How are the parts of the plant different from each other?
 Which part of the plant is in the soil?
 How can plants be different? (by size – colors – shapes)

Instruction sheet for each groups: (Teacher will use Gradual release model of I do, we do and
you do)
Before students start the activities, the teacher will model for each groups what they should do in
their activities.
Safety brief: remined students to use the glue carefully.

Outcome: Student will be able to identify and describe the parts of plants.

The master group: Teacher will give the students a real plant and ask the st to draw, write
the parts of the plant
Student will draw the parts of the plant and label each part, students will use paper and
colors.
Activity Name (matching the parts of plant)

Group2 Developing:

Teacher will: give each student a matching cards, glue and a poster to match the cards and
then stick each part in the poster arranged.
Student will take the part of the plant cards and match it with the write word, after that they
will stick the pictures as its plant and stick the words near the picture.

Group 3 Emerging group:
Teacher will ask student to be creative using materials to make part of the plant and label
them
Student will have cups, wool, straw and leaves to create a plant and then write the name
where each part is.

Extra activity:
Teacher will: give students a homework of Parts of plant of labeling the words into the right
place.
St will color, label this part of plant.

Homework:
Teacher will: give students a homework of Parts of plant of cutting and pasting the words into
the right place.
St will color, write, cut and paste this part of plant.
Literacy thought:
I use literacy when I let the student learn through kinaesthetic, auditory, visual, read and write.
Emergent group: Students are learning with kinaesthetic when they move around and be creative
with making their own plant using cup-wool-straw-leaves.
Developed group: Students are learning with visual and writing when find the part of plant and
write it.
Master group: students are learning with read and write when they read the part of the plant and
write their names.

Summative assessment :
At the end of the lesson, the teacher will give each student a short quiz about matching the
proper label to the correct plant part.
students will match the word with the right plant of part.
