Terminating and Connecting Electrical

Wiring and Electronics Circuit

Electric Circuits

 Circuit
interconnection of simple
electrical devices wherein there
is at least one closed path and
wherein there is current flow.

Circuit Configurations

 Serries
• Every component is
connected wherein there is
only a single path for current
to flow in the entire circuit.

Electric Circuits

 Parallel
• All components are
connected directly across
every other component

 Serries-parallel
• formed by combining sets of
components that are in serries
and in parallel with each
other.

Electric Circuits

 Complex
• circuit which cannot be
reduced to a single resistor
and a single power source.

Tracing Current Flow

 Rules for tracing current flow:

 Start at the most negative point

then move toward the most
positive point in the circuit.

Electric Circuits

 Trace through the circuit using

any path but make sure to
follow these conditions:

• Do not violate the basic

behavior of a component.
• Do not return to a point in
the circuit where you have
already traced without first
passing through a power
source.

 SERRIES CIRCUIT

 Resistance

 The total resistance in a serries

circuit is the sum of all
individual resistance.
