Who Was King Nimrod In The Bible?

Nimrod is arguably one of the most important people in the early parts of the Old
Testament, but there is very little said about him in scripture overall. However,
what is said changes the entire course of human history, mostly because of where he
was from. Nimrod was the son of Cush, the grandson of Ham, and the great grandson
of Noah.

Nimrod: The Son of Cush

Being a son of Cush, Nimrod himself would be classified as a Cushite. According to

both scripture and history, Cushites were known for their black skin.

Kuwsh (Strong’s #3568): Probably of foreign origin; Cush (or Ethiopia), the name of
a son of Ham, and of his territory; also of an Israelite — Chush, Cush, Ethiopia.
Cushites According To Josephus

“For of the four sons of Ham, time has not at all hurt the name of Cush; for the
Ethiopians, over whom he reigned, are even at this day, both by themselves and by
all men in Asia, called Cushites.” – Josephus, Antiquities of The Jews

Cushites According To Google

The ancient area known as Cush, encompassed both modern day Sudan and Ethiopia. The
following map shows the African territory that the Bible refers to as Cush.

invaders_map

It was in this area that Nimrod was born, and would eventually depart from to
establish the following important “Middle Eastern” Biblical cities (Genesis 10:10):

Babel
Erech
Accad
Calneh
These places were located in Shinar, the area currently known as Iraq. As we can
see on the following map, Shinar is very close to Africa. We should also note that
before African territory was renamed to “The Middle East” in the mid 1800s, this
area was accepted as part of Africa, and referred to as Arabia.

Was Nimrod Black?

For those that believe the Bible is the inspired word of God, there is no question
that major portions of the Middle East were established by dark skinned Africans.
The same dark skinned Africans are related to Nimrod through his grandfather Ham,
so there is no reason to believe that Nimrod was anything other than black. The
following picture is of black Arabs that claim descent from Abraham’s grandson
Kedar, which proves that not all “Middle Eastern” people are light brown:
Black Arabs

This brings us to another rarely made connection to Nimrod is Abraham. Abraham

lived in Ur, which was located in Babylon, and fell under the rule of Nimrod. It is
out of Nimrod’s kingdom that Abraham was chosen by God. According to Islamic
belief, Abraham and Nimrod were adversaries. While I do not put spiritual stock in
the Quran, it does contain several interesting stories concerning people in the
Bible. Nimrod’s desire to kill Abraham is just one of those stories.

Nimrod The Mighty Hunter

According to scripture, Nimrod became a mighty hunter before the Lord, but there
are scholars that point out that both tradition and the Hebrew word “before”
indicates he hunted in defiance of the Lord.

King James Version

“And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was a mighty
hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter
before the LORD.” – Genesis 10:8-9 (KJV)

International Standard Version

“Cush fathered Nimrod, who became the first fearless leader throughout the land. He
became a fearless hunter in defiance of the Lord. That is why it is said, “Like
Nimrod, a fearless hunter in defiance of the Lord.” – Genesis 10:8-9 (ISV)

As we can see in the translation of the second example, the idea that him being a
powerful hunter isn’t always looked at in a positive light. The reason this is
viewed as a possibility of being negative is due to the Hebrew word used:

Before (Strong’s #6440): panim or paneh – accept, anger, as long as, battle,
because of, beseech, countenance
Since one of the possible translation of the words is anger, some believe that the
type of hunting he may have been doing is what angered God. It is believed by some
that Nimrod was a hunter of humans. While this may be tradition, the story is not
found in scripture. Unfortunately, there is no way to verify if there is any truth
to the claim that he hunted men for sport. This same verse also gives rise to the
theory that Nimrod began changing into a nephilim.

Did Nimrod Become A Nephilim Giant?

here are some that believe that Nimrod may have somehow attempted to turn himself
into or successfully turned himself into a nephilim, based on the phrase “began to
be a mighty one”. There are several reasons turning into a nephilim is not what
happened, but before we get into that, I want to share this email I received.

“Minister Fortson, Thank you for the time and effort at informing the churched
masses of these very controversial truths. I am curious about Nimrod, do you think
that he somehow was attempting thru some sort of genetic “mysticism” to become a
nephilim? I recently watched an excellent YouTube series on the high-tech society
before the flood which seems to indicate that mankind had become very high-tech
prior to the flood which would certainly back the Enochian book claims of the
fallen angels trading, (I think technology), for worship and such. As I said I am
curious and have no minister in my area who will even broach this subject….” –
Sophie
In response to this email, mankind may have had a very high level of technology
before the flood, but there is no evidence that Nimrod got his hands on that
technology, with the purpose of turning himself into a hybrid. With that said,
there is a concept in the works (probably already ready to go), that would turn
adult humans into animal-human hybrids. In my opinion, it seems to indicate that
the means to change people probably existed pre-flood, but again, the Bible doesn’t
indicate that he was doing this.

Exhibit A – Nimrod Became A Mighty One

“And Cush begat Nimrod he began to be a mighty one in the earth” – Genesis 10:8

The entire theory of Nimrod turning into a nephilim is based on one verse, but more
specifically, two Hebrew words in that verse. “Began” and “mighty one”. Mighty one
is two words in English, but it is only one in Hebrew, gibbor. The plural of gibbor
is gibborim, which we are going to define now.

Began: chalal (Strong’s #2490) – Began, begin, pierce

To Be: hayah (Strong’s #1961) – Became, come to pass, come
Mighty One: gibbor (Strong’s #1358) – Strong, mighty one, warrior, tyrant
The word does not mean “giant”. It is a direct reference to power, not height or
stature. The reason it is even associated with giants is because it appears in a
verse with giants, which brings us to Exhibit B.

Exhibit B – The Nephilim Became Mighty Ones

In order to fully grasp why attempting to reinterpret the word gibborim as meaning
nephilim is incorrect, we are going to compare two verses.

The Nimrod Verse

“And Cush begat Nimrod he began to be a mighty one in the earth” – Genesis 10:8

The Nephilim Verse

“There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons
of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same
became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.” – Genesis 6:4

If we read both verses carefully, we see that both Nimrod and the giants had to
become “mighty”. Attempting to make the argument that Nimrod became “a hybrid”,
would then force us to make the argument that the giants became hybrids, which
doesn’t work. The giants were hybrids by birth, and therefore had no need to become
gibborim.

Exhibit C – Hebrews Were Called Mighty Ones

Perhaps the most damning piece of evidence for this theory is that there are other
Hebrews that are described as gibborim, but not once does anyone try to make the
claim that they turned into nephilim.

“And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with
thee, thou mighty man of valour.” – Judges 6:12

In the above verse, the judge Gideon is called gibborim. If we are applying
definitions consistently, and not just where they make for the best controversy,
then we would have to conclude that Gideon was turning into or had already been
turned into a giant… but that’s not what’s happening here.

“The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice
over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.”
– Zephaniah 3:17

Here we have God being referred to as gibborim, so once again, if we apply the
definition equally, we would have to conclude that God is the same type of giant
that we are to believe Nimrod was turning into… once again, that’s not what’s
happening in the verse.

“These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in
the seat, chief among the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up his
spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time.” – 2 Samuel 23:8

Here we see that David had gibborim that were under his command. As we continue to
dig, we see that the theory falls apart in three more places in scripture as well.

Joshua 1:14
Joshua 8:3
2 Samuel 17:8
If we apply critical thinking, we have to ask ourselves, “why is gibborim ONLY
interpreted as giant when certain teachers look at Nimrod, but not applied equally
across the board?” They pick and choose to apply the interpretation as they see fit
for the sole purpose of being controversial vs being scripturally accurate.

Exhibit D – Anyone Can Become A Mighty One

This final bit of evidence is moreso cause and effect. For someone that was not
born into royalty or power, and manages to achieve power, at some point they “began
to be” powerful (gibbor). We see the same indication with the nephilim in Genesis
6:4. They became gibborim. They were not born gibborim (powerful rulers), in the
context of the verse. When we see theories like these, we really need dig deeper
into scripture for the truth.

Nimrod Did NOT Turn Into A Nephilim

Is it possible that somehow Nimrod started to turn into a nephilim? Yes, but is it
probable or likely? No. Because the same word is used to refer to individuals that
were clearly not hybrids.

If we are to cast a blanket use over the word gibborim, we are forced to assume
that David had nephilim as his personal guard in direct disobedience to God.
If we are choosing to selectively apply the definition to Nimrod and no one else,
then we need to explain why we are applying a unique definition to him and no one
else.
The most likely scenario is that Nimrod simply became someone very powerful, well
respected, and feared because of his actions, not that he started to transform into
a hybrid angel-human giant.

Who Were Nimrod’s Sons?

The Bible does not tell us whether or not Nimrod had any children, but there are
stories and legends floating around. Chances are that he did have children because
he was a leader. Powerful leaders usually had multiple women and multiple children.
One such belief is that Nimrod had a wife named Semiramis and a son named Tammuz.
Although Semiramis does not appear in scripture, Tammuz does, but is not linked to
Nimrod.

“Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD’S house which was toward
the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.” – Ezekiel 8:14

It is believed that Nimrod, Semiramis, and Tammuz were all worshiped as gods in
ancient times.

Nimrod: Christmas Connection

Tammuz worship often included the erection and decoration of a tree, which passed
on into modern culture as the Christmas Tree. This doesn’t directly connect Nimrod
to Christmas, but it does give us a small connection to the overall origins of one
of the main focal points of the Christmas tradition.

Nimrod and The Tower of Babel

In Genesis 10 the Bible tells us that Nimrod founded Babel, and in Genesis 11 we’re
fast forwarded to a story about The Tower of Babel. The Bible doesn’t directly link
the tower to Nimrod, but it would make sense that if Babel was his kingdom, and he
was alive during that time, it would be his tower. The historian Josephus says a
lot concerning Nimrod and directly links him to the tower of Babel.

“Now it was Nimrod who excited them to such an affront and contempt of God. He was
the grandson of Ham, the son of Noah, a bold man, and of great strength of hand. He
persuaded them not to ascribe it to God, as if it were through his means they were
happy, but to believe that it was their own courage which procured that happiness.
He also gradually changed the government into tyranny, seeing no other way of
turning men from the fear of God, but to bring them into a constant dependence on
his power. He also said he would be revenged on God, if he should have a mind to
drown the world again; for that he would build a tower too high for the waters to
reach. And that he would avenge himself on God for destroying their forefathers.

Now the multitude were very ready to follow the determination of Nimrod, and to
esteem it a piece of cowardice to submit to God; and they built a tower, neither
sparing any pains, nor being in any degree negligent about the work: and, by reason
of the multitude of hands employed in it, it grew very high, sooner than any one
could expect; but the thickness of it was so great, and it was so strongly built,
that thereby its great height seemed, upon the view, to be less than it really was.
It was built of burnt brick, cemented together with mortar, made of bitumen, that
it might not be liable to admit water. When God saw that they acted so madly, he
did not resolve to destroy them utterly, since they were not grown wiser by the
destruction of the former sinners; but he caused a tumult among them, by producing
in them diverse languages, and causing that, through the multitude of those
languages, they should not be able to understand one another. The place wherein
they built the tower is now called Babylon, because of the confusion of that
language which they readily understood before; for the Hebrews mean by the word
Babel, confusion …” – Josephus, Antiquities of The Jews, Chapter 4 (Concerning the
Tower of Babylon, and the confusion of Tongues)

Josephus’ story seems to support the idea that Nimrod did indeed intend to defy
God, and therefore there may be some truth to the tradition that he hunted men in
defiance of God. Moreso, based on the words of Josephus, Nimrod may have hunted
believers for sport. Again, not in scripture, but it does seem to be the missing
piece that ties up a couple of loose ends:

Nimrod is directly linked to the building of The Tower of Babel.

Abraham may have been called out of Babel due to Nimrod’s hatred for God and those
that worshiped him.
The Breakdown

Nimrod’s full story is shrouded in myth, legend, fact, and speculation, but
somewhere in all of the “noise” we’ll find the truth. There is no doubt that there
remains a lot that we don’t know about the world’s first leader, but what we do
know is that the world he built or at least attempted to build, will remain a topic
of conversation and study for generations to come.

Babel was the center of the first world empire and was founded by Nimrod, the son
of Cush and grandson of Ham.

“And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was a mighty
hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter
before the LORD. And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad,
and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.” – Genesis 10:8-10

Babel is also the place where the people had advanced to a level where they wanted
to build a tower that reached into the heavens, but God destroyed it.

“Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the
language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon
the face of all the earth.” – Genesis 11:9

Ham: Son of Noah

Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham (Cham), and Japheth, but it is Ham and his lineage
that settled Africa and various parts of Arabia. Although that is the case, there
is lots of evidence that Ham was not the only black son, but may have had black
skin in common with Shem. According to scripture, the brothers were born when Noah
was 500 years old.

“And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.” –
Genesis 5:32

According to the Strong’s Concordance #2526 (Cham) is defined as: a son of Noah,
also his descendants, also a name for Egyptians. This definition plays a role in
the very way we look at scripture because:

Mainstream Christianity teaches that Ham’s children were black.

The Bible teaches that Hebrews were mistaken for Egyptians.
History (Tacitus) teaches that Hebrews were mistaken for Egyptians and Ethiopians.
Unfortunately, mainstream Christianity ignore all of the above when it comes to
identifying, painting, and casting actors for movie roles. We’re presented with a
false perception that everyone in scripture was white. Understanding the role,
ethnicity, and lineage of Ham is a key in ending the deception of a Eurocentric
Bible view.

Images of Deception: The Sons of Noah

Was Ham Noah’s Youngest Son of Noah?

In ancient Hebrew culture, it was customary to list the children in the order of
their birth, which means that Ham was possibly the middle son, and not the
youngest. There is an exception to this rule, and that is when the elder ends up
serving the younger. It is no coincidence that the youngest child is almost always
the chosen child:

Seth was the youngest son of Adam.

Isaac was younger than Ishmael.
Jacob was younger than Esau.
Pharez was younger than Zerah.
David was younger than his brothers.
Solomon was David’s youngest son.
We know from Genesis 10:21 that Japheth is the oldest son. What’s interesting to
note is that when all three are mentioned together, Shem is almost always first,
Ham is ALWAYS second, and Japheth is almost always list. This is consistent and you
can check for yourself:

Genesis 5:32
Genesis 6:10
Genesis 7:13
Genesis 9:18
Genesis 10:1
1 Chronicles 1:4

There is only one exception to the above order. It occurs in Genesis 10 where
Japheth is listed first in the genealogy, Ham is still mentioned second, and Shem
is mentioned last. In both examples, Ham is the only one that never changes from
the middle position. This isn’t concrete proof, but it does cast doubt on whether
or not Ham was the youngest. The order of birth becomes more significant when we
look into the false teaching that Ham was cursed by Noah.

The Curse of Ham – A False Teaching

There are many church leaders that have helped spread the false teaching that Ham
was cursed by Noah to have black skin, and that teaching has been used to justify
both slavery and racism toward black people all over there world. Here is what the
Bible actually says:

“And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: And he drank of the
wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent. And Ham, the father of
Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without. And
Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went
backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward,
and they saw not their father’s nakedness.” – Genesis 9:21-23

The attempt to make Ham the target of the curse is the very definition of false
teaching, when the verse clearly names Canaan as the target of the curse. As the
story unfolds, we see that Ham was the one that discovered his father naked and
immediately told his brothers. From these three verses, many false teachers have
decided to create false doctrine to push on the church.

The Bible does not say that he uncovered his father’s nakedness.
The Bible does not say he had sex with his mother.
The Bible does not say he had sex with Noah.
The Bible does not say he castrated Noah.
There are no indications that any of the above scenarios took place, and yet these
teachings are very prevalent within the church. Those that teach or follow such
doctrine are either deceiving, being deceived, or both. The Bible goes on to say:

“And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him. And
he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.” –
Genesis 9:24-25

The verse makes reference to Noah’s “younger son”, but he then curses his grandson
Canaan. Many of the false teachings that spring from these verses are due to a lack
of cultural understanding or just flat out ignoring what the Bible says in order to
push a race based agenda:

The word “grandson does not appear in the Bible”.

Grandsons and granddaughters were referred to as sons and daughters.
The phrase “younger son” can refer to a grandson as well as a son.
As we learned above, children were usually (not always) listed in the order in
which they were born, and Genesis 10:6 lists Canaan as the last son of Ham, which
fits with Noah referring to him as his “younger son”. In context, it was likely
Canaan that did whatever it is that he did, which is why Canaan was cursed and not
Ham, Mizraim, Cush, or Phut.

Beware of False Teachers Adding Words

One way false teachers deceive people is by playing around with words, inserting
them where there are none, and avoiding common sense questions. Most of these false
teachers will insert the word “uncovered” to replace the word “saw” so that they
can falsely interpret the text as follows:

“And Ham, the father of Canaan, uncovered the nakedness of his father, and told his
two brethren without.”

We can easily prove this to be a false teaching by looking at the Hebrew word used
in Genesis 9:22:

Saw (Strong’s #7200): raah – see, appear, became visible

This is important because they use the following verse in an attempt to justify
their false teaching, causing many to fall for the false connection.

“The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not
uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.” – Leviticus 18:7

Problem #1 – The Wrong Words

We’ve already seen the word used for “saw” in Genesis, so lets look at which word
is used in Leviticus since BOTH books were written by Moses:

Uncover (Strongs #1540): galah – uncover, remove, expose

There are clearly two different words used, and because it’s the same author, it
means the difference is INTENTIONAL so that the ideas will not be mixed up.

Problem #2 – The Wrong Timing

The law in Leviticus did not come until AFTER the time of Noah, which means even if
Ham had done something with his mother, it wouldn’t have been breaking a law, but
would’ve been a personal slight against Noah.

Problem #3 – Playing Semantics

The text in Leviticus clearly says “the nakedness of thy father” AND “the nakedness
of thy mother”. The text differentiates between the two, but those teaching that
Ham did something to his mother will not point it out. Over and over again, the
Genesis text makes it clear that Ham SAW the nakedness of his father. If he’d seen
his mother naked, it would use the same words as Moses used in Leviticus and said
it was “the nakedness of his mother.”

Problem #4 – Stripping Context

Not once is Noah’s wife mentioned in any of the text. Genesis 9 is a story that is
100% clear to those that don’t want to strip the context of scripture.
Noah planted a vineyard and grew grapes.
Noah got drunk on wine.
Noah fell asleep.
Noah was seen naked by Ham.
Ham told his brothers that Noah was naked.
Shem and Japheth covered their eyes and then covered Noah.
Noah woke up from being drunk and realized what had happened.
Noah cursed his grandson Canaan
These are the 8 major facts of the story. Here’s what we are NOT allowed to add to
the text based on the twisting of scripture.

At no point should we jump to the conclusion that Ham was the reason his father was
naked because the text does not use the same word as used in Leviticus for
“uncover”.
At no point should we assume that Ham got his mother pregnant with Canaan, because
the text doesn’t say that.
How Long After The Flood Did This Happen?

In order to get a good idea of the time frame, I decided to Google how long it
takes grapes to grow, and the answer was up to three years. If we break down the
amount of time the flood waters were on the earth we get roughly a year. This event
would’ve occurred 4+ years after the rain began to fall for 40 days and nights.

This time frame ONLY works if Noah immediately planted his vineyard after getting
off of the ark.
If Noah did not plant the vineyard immediately, it means the event occurred more
than 4 years after the flood.
The Bible doesn’t tell us how long after the flood that Noah planted his vineyard.

The fact is that there was plenty of time for Canaan to already have been born.
It’s even possible that Ham’s wife got pregnant while they were waiting for the
flood waters to dry up. Unfortunately, we’re not told how old Ham was when Canaan
was born, nor are we told how hold Canaan was when he died.

While we may not know all the details of the situation, we do know that Ham DID NOT
uncover the nakedness of his mother because his mother isn’t mentioned and the word
for “uncover” isn’t used in the entire chapter.

The Lineage of Ham and The Land of Ham

It is through Ham’s lineage that we see the development of most of Africa and a
large portion of the Middle East, including modern day Israel and Iraq. Here is a
breakdown of Ham’s lineage and the countries they founded. We know that Egypt was
considered the “land of Ham” because of the following verses:

“Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.” – Psalms
105:23

“They shewed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.” – Psalms 105:27

“Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.” – Psalms
106:22

The Land of Ham was Egypt based on the context and reference to the events in
Exodus. Many believe these verses to have been written by David. Those that claim
that Ham was the father of all black Africans and then deny that Egyptians were
black even though the descended from Ham, do so based solely on their racial bias
to Hebrews marrying, living among, and being mistaken for black people.

at all of the countries that descended from Ham, and then we look at scripture, we
see that not only did the Hebrews interact and mix with them regularly, but we see
that they inhabited large parts of the “Middle East”, which casts major doubt on
the notion that Arabia of the past was full of white or even light skinned people
as it is in the modern day.

Shemite and Hamite Intermixing

One very interesting fact that we find in scripture, is that the descendants of Ham
and Shem often mixed. The following is a list of Hamites and Shemites that mixed
and the children they had if applicable (names listed in alphabetical order by

Contradictions In Eurocentric Christian Theology

When it comes to European Christian theology, there are major contradictions when
it comes to Ham, his descendants, and what they looked like. In racist theology
like Christian Identity and Mormonism, black people are seen as cursed, which is
often used as an excuse to justify evils like slavery and murder. However, European
Christians can’t seem to get their theology straight. Even though they teach the
black people come from Ham:
They deny that ancient Canaanites were black, even though they’re descendants of
Ham’s son Canaan.
They deny that ancient Libyans were black, even though they’re descendants of Ham’s
son Phut.
They deny that ancient Egyptians were black, even though they’re descendants of
Ham’s son Mizraim.
They deny that ancient Babylonians were black, even though they’re descendants of
Ham’s son Cush.
Ham only had four sons, which means they deny the blackness of his only four sons,
while claiming that Ham is the father of all black people. The reason for this
outright denial of the truth in spite of the facts and their own theology is 100%
based on skin color. Europeans understand that if they concretely admit that any of
Ham’s four sons were beyond a shadow of a doubt black, then they also have to admit
that Hebrews were black as well because they mixed with the descendants of Ham.

Great information for blacks. This suggests that blacks are culturally fertile.

I don’t know if you consider Jubilees to be inspired or not, but it says, “Noah
took to himself a wife…in the first year in the fifth week: and in the 3rd year
thereof she bare him Shem, in the 5th year thereof she bare him Ham, and in the 1st
year in the sixth week she bare him Japheth.”
So the birth order given here was Japheth, Shem, and Ham.
It also says, “And Ham knew that his father had cursed his younger son…”
So like you said, when he said younger son, he still could have been referring to
Canaan, but still possible that it was Ham.
Jasher (history, as it doesn’t claim inspiration) says Noah had Japheth and then
Shem when he was 502. Silent on Ham’s birth. So not exactly helpful.
But even if Ham was the youngest son, Canaan is the one who got the curse and even
if Ham was the one who erred and Canaan got the curse, it still does not justify
ill treatment of all of Ham’s descendants in the least.
This was really informative as I had heard the “uncover thy father’s nakedness”
theory and thought it didn’t quite fit the text. I didn’t even think to check the
Hebrew of the word “saw”. Nice work.

This was great information. To be honest I barely like to reference much from any
of these bibles as they were rewritten numerous of times and context were both
added and taken out. So usually I just say I believe in the Great I Am and all
powerful. I am willing to learn with the understanding to be careful as there are
things put out there to confuse/misinform others.

We don’t really know why Noah was so upset with Canaan but I heard a minister state
that it is possible that Ham also saw Noah’s wife’s nakedness too but only Noah’s
name is mentioned because the wife was like property so only Noah’s name is
mentioned. Instead of Ham keeping this information to himself, he told
his brothers and this made Noah angry. This makes more sense than a father becoming
this angry just because his sons saw him naked in his drunken stupor.

Black History In The Bible
Let’s be clear here… in your mind it makes sense that a grown man saw his mom
naked, told his brothers, and his dad got so mad that he walked into their dwelling
and saw his mom naked on accident, that he woke up and cursed his grandson’s
descendants to be slaves?

Why not curse Ham specifically instead of his grandchild?

I was trying not to go into this because it will be long. First, we must define
what “father’s nakedness” means in Genesis 9. The first definition of father
nakedness is in Leviticus 18:6-8. The New English Translation states it this way: 6
“‘No man is to approach any close relative to have sexual intercourse with her. I
am the Lord. 7 You must not expose your father’s nakedness by having sexual
intercourse with your mother. She is your mother; you must not have intercourse
with her. 8 You must not have sexual intercourse with your father’s wife; she is
your father’s nakedness. So you see, the father nakedness is the wife. Back to
Genesis 9:18, Do you notice that Canaan is mentioned with thee 3 sons. Although the
other sons had children and Ham had other children, Canaan is the only grandchild
mentioned at this time. Also, noticed how it clarify that this son is Ham’s
biological son; although he is still mentioned as the sons of Noah who populated
the earth. It looks like Ham had intercourse with his mother and a child was
produced between he and his mother. Ham told his brothers about the indiscretion
and the brothers tried to cover her without looking at her. When Noah sobered up
and found out what happened, he cursed the unborn baby who was his grandchild and
his son (similar to a step son). This is the reason Canaan is mentioned with the
other 3 sons. I think the curse was more like a deep hate because Noah did not have
anything other than his inner feelings to call this act a sin. That did not come
until later when YAH said do not have intercourse with close relatives.

Black History In The Bible
1. NOTHING in the verse says Ham “uncovered” anyone.

2. If Ham saw his father naked, why did the brothers cover Noah?

3. Explain how the Bible would say “Noah was naked”, if you assume that any time it
refers to a man’s nakedness it really means his wife. That doesn’t make sense
especially since the verse you’re referring to also mentions “the nakedness of thy
mother”. The text is 100% clear, but those like you prefer to torture it to say
something else.

4. The Bible says Ham “saw”… it doesn’t say anything else. Stop adding to the text.
The Hebrew words for “saw” and “uncovered” are two different words. A basic study
of both texts reveal that.

5. Canaan was cursed instead of Ham. It doesn’t make sense that Noah would randomly
curse his grandson that many of you believe wasn’t even born yet.

6. Whatever was done was already done before Ham found Noah naked.

7. Saying “younger son” can also refer to Canaan in the Bible since the word
“grandson” and “grandfather” are never used. They’re referred to as fathers and
sons. So when Noah knew what his “younger son” had done, it can refer to his
grandson.

Before you come here and attempt to start interpreting text, make sure you address
all 7 of the issues above AND the problem of two different words being used for two
different actions. There is no curse on Ham and the Bible doesn’t say Ham did
anything except see and report. Stop rushing through scripture and grasping old
ideas that make no sense. Ideas that have been used to justify the mistreatment of
black people based on false European perversion of scripture.

Hadassah
Greetings. Thank you for this wonderful piece. I have learned so much. A pastor
from a local church once preached to the congregation that blacks are cursed by
Noah and I had doubts and also preached that the Gentiles refered to black people.
Well, I'm over that now.

My question is, Noah cursed Canann right, was Cannann that was caused by Noah the
same owner of the Land filled with milk and honey that God promised the
Israelites??

If you’re asking if that is the same Canaan, then yes it is the same lineage that

Minister Fortson: Thank you for providing clarity to “misunderstood” biblical
subjects. I have a question: It is an historical fact much of the biblical records
of the ancient Hebrews were “confiscated” by the Romans in the destruction of the
Hebrew’s sacred temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D.; and held by Europeans (the Roman
Catholic “church”) for hundreds of years before the first printing of the “JKB” in
the mid-18th century. Also, it has been noted by several historians many biblical
texts were either deliberately excluded from the “KJB” or corrupted (by the mid-
1800’s both Europe and the U.S. were profiting from the enslavement of kidnapped
Africans). In your opinion, could it stand to reason the entire “curse of Ham”
narrative (among others) be an example of the self-serving corruption of Scripture?

Unlike yourself I am no bible scholar but it seems to me the primary reason so many
of us “laypeople” find it hard to grasp and connect to the full impact of the
Scriptures is due to the prevalence of contradictions and often somewhat obvious
self-righteous (self-serving) perversions.

Black History In The Bible
Yes, the false teaching of the curse on Ham is 100% race related. The Bible says
Canaan was cursed, but they intentionally false teach that it was Ham, and
therefore all black people. They do this to keep Hebrews away from the truth, and
many have fallen for the lie.

As far as contradictions. That tends to only occur when people try to understand
the Bible without having a complete picture of the full situation. There are no
contradictions, just misunderstandings on the part of the reader.

Neither of Noah`s children became the Arabs. When you read in Genesis 16 where
Sarai convinces Abraham to have a relationship with her maid Hagar and she ends up
having a son called Ishmael. They are later put away and Ishmael eventually marries
an Egyptian and has 12 sons. It is through these sons of Ishmael that you originate
the Arab nations, not from any of Noah`s family tree.

Here’s why you’re wrong. Arab is defined by living on the Arabian Peninsula, not by
ethnicity. Anyone living in Arabia was an Arab. We now call it “The Middle East”,
which is why people say “Middle Eastern”. So yes, Shem and Ham both gave rise to
Arabians through their descendants.

You are contradicting yourself. Noah was a great grandfather of Abraham who gave
birth to Ishmael. Remember, after the flood there was no human race except Noah and
his family. This mean all the human race are descendants of Noah. Egyptians are
descendants of Ham as mentioned in Gen 10: 6. If you are reading KJV, Egypt is
referred to as Mizraim)

Ham is the youngest son of Noah & not the middle son according 2 Genesis 9:24. It
specifically states that, “And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger
son had done unto him.” This is alluding 2 Genesis 9:22 which states, “And Ham, the
father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren.” From
this perspective, Genesis 10:21 specifies that Japheth is the oldest, which puts
Shem as the middle son among the three. PLEASE E-mail me in reference 2 this
information

Black History In The Bible
Actually, not true. You ASSUME it means Ham… and yet the text itself never uses the
word “grandson”. Grandsons were referred to as sons. The fact that Noah cursed his
grandson Canaan means that Ham wasn’t the one referred to. Ham had four sons and
for Noah to randomly choose one of his innocent grandsons to curse doesn’t make any
sense at all.

It also says Ham saw, exited, and told his brothers. It never says he did anything
to Noah to make him naked. It doesn’t say he “uncovered” anything as some try to
teach. That’s adding to the text based on a preconceived notion. There’s a reason
Canaan was cursed and not Ham.

Jezebel and 32 Signs of The Jezebel Spirit

The traditional Christian crowd sometimes make reference to “the Jezebel spirit”,
but what is it and why? The name Jezebel is mentioned 22 times in scripture (21 in
the OT and 1 in the NT), but the teaching of “the Jezebel spirit” is based on the 1
mention in the New Testament. If you believe in the Jezebel spirit or know someone
that does, you’re going to want to read this entire study. If you find something
worth sharing, please do so.

Jezebel In The Old Testament

The story of old Testament Jezebel can be found across 1 Kings and 2 Kings. When
Ahab began to reign, he took a wife named Jezebel (1 Kings 16:31), the daughter of
Ethbaal king of the Zidonians. A quick summary of Jezebel’s lineage breaks down as
follows:

Zidon and Sidon are interchangeable.

Sidon / Zidon was the oldest son of Canaan.
Jezebel was a Canaanite Princess.
Canaan was the son of Ham.
Ham is considered the father of the black African race.
Jezebel was a black woman from the lineage of Ham.
Jezebel’s marriage to Ahab was just one of many interracial marriages between the
line of Ham and the line of Shem. Not long after her marriage, she began to kill
the prophets. During this time Obadiah the prophet helped hide 100 other prophets
escape from her (1 Kings 18:4).

Jezebel had Naboth stoned and his fields taken to cheer up her husband (1 Kings
21:15)
Jezebel encouraged Ahab to worship idols and commit other evils in defiance of God
(1 Kings 21:25).
Jezebel threatened to kill the prophet Elijah (1 Kings 19:2).
Because of what Jezebel had done in Israel, God promised that three things would
happen to her.

She would be eaten by dogs (2 Kings 9:10).

Her body would be unrecognizable (2 Kings 9:37).
Her digested corpse would be turned into dung (2 Kings 9:37).
Jezebel Eaten By Dogs

When it came time for Jezebel to die, her death was actually a lot more violent
than just being eaten by dogs. When Jehu arrived, he saw Jezebel in a window with
her face painted (2 Kings 9:30), so he ordered her to be thrown out the window:

“And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was
sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot. And when he
was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and
bury her: for she is a king’s daughter. And they went to bury her: but they found
no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.” – 2 Kings
9:33-35

Not only was Jezebel thrown out of a window, but upon hitting the ground her blood
splattered on the wall and on the horses. She was then trampled by the horses. If
the fall didn’t kill her, being trampled by horses certainly would’ve finished the
job. We aren’t told how much time it took Jehu to eat before giving the order to
have Jezebel buried, but by the time the men go to bury her, only her head, hands,
and feet were left. It doesn’t seem logical that “dogs” would devour a human corpse
in such a manner, but these may not have been dogs in the modern sense of the word.

The Striped Hyena is native to North and East Africa, which traditionally included
Israel. Because Israel and Egypt share a border, it is not uncommon for Striped
Hyenas to be found in Israel. Hyenas are also known to devour corpses, including
the bones. A few hyenas could eat an entire corpse of a human in less than an hour.
This seems to be the most reasonable explanation of the type of dogs that ate
Jezebel.

Jezebel In The New Testament

In the New Testament we find that a different Jezebel is alive and present, and
just as destructive to the church.

“Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that
woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my
servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.” –
Revelation 2:20

Unlike the Jezebel in the Old Testament that hated the prophets and had them
killed, this new Jezebel posed as a prophetess and taught false doctrine within the
church. This false doctrine included idolotry and ritual sex.

Fornication is often mistaught as “premarital sex”, but neither the Hebrew, Greek,
or Aramaic convey that meaning. Also if you feel the need to do so on your own,
just replace the word “fornication” with “premarital sex” as you read, and see if
the context of the sentence makes sense. Grown people don’t need to be taught to
have premarital sex.
Idolatry and the worship of false gods often involved eating in addition to ritual
sex. Hebrews and followers of Christ are told not to eat food sacrificed to idols.
This is a clear and intentional violation of God’s word.
In similar manner to the first Jezebel, this Jezebel is also pronounced a
punishment by God.

“And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I
will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great
tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with
death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and
hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.” –
Revelation 2:21-23

In these verses the crime of adultery is named, which probably happened during
fornication (idolatrous sex rituals). The punishment for her crimes would be the
following:

She will be cast into her bed.

Her and her followers will go into great tribulation.
Her children will die.
This is the last that we hear of Jezebel in the Bible. Unfortunately, it’s not the
last we hear of Jezebel in the church.

The Jezebel Spirit

This brings us to “the Jezebel spirit”. Many Christians make reference to this
spirit for many different reasons. Here is a list of what different people believe
are signs of the Jezebel spirit’s presence:

There Will Be a Charismatic Type Energy on the Host

Likes To Attach to Sharp, Intelligent, and Attractive People When It Can
Will Always Seek to be the Center of Attention
Will Seek to Infiltrate, Attack, and Undermine Everything
Will Go After Anyone in a Leadership Position
Runs in Tandem With a Mocking Spirit
Especially Hates Prophets, Prayer, and Spiritual Warfare
Will Occasionally Expose Itself on a Photo
The Host Usually Will Not Know They Have This Kind of Spirit in Them
Pure Evil and Hate
Maximum Pride
Highly Lustful and Seductive
Highly Self-Centered and Narcissistic
Very Judgmental, Critical, Condescending, and Demeaning
Overly Demanding and Manipulating
Cold, Ruthless, Cunning, and Calculating
Very Combative and Confrontational
Very Good at Lying and Cheating
Cannot Stand Any Type of Constructive Criticism
Hates All Prophets, Prayer, and Anything to Do With Spiritual Warfare
People influenced by a spirit of Jezebel have fear issues of rejection. They
control others so that they will not be hurt. Generally, there is a history of
trauma or abuse.
They make commitments and promises quickly and use recommendations from others to
impress others.
They seem super-spiritual in an exaggerated way to gain acceptance and attention.
They have their own agenda. They are looking for disciples of their own. They whine
until they get their way.
They isolate and pit people against each other privately and individually behind
closed doors.
They play the victim. They are never wrong. They blame everyone else. They play
on compassion to block discernment.
They use false humility and feel entitled or owed something.
They are not accountable to anyone and often accuse others of being a Jezebel.
They look for others who are hurt and wounded to mentor them.
They accuse people falsely.
They operate with insecurity.
They initiate witchcraft prayers based on selfish motivation.
Will Be Capable of Giving False Prophecies, Visions, and Dreams
As we read through the list we get the sense that it’s just a list of personality
traits that religious people don’t like. The three bold and red items above stood
out to me the most as I compiled this list.

#19 – How constructive the criticism is or is not is determined by the person

receiving the criticism. Many people truly believe they’re giving constructive
criticism, when in reality they aren’t being constructive at all.
#22 – The sole purpose of a recommendation is to impress people, which is why
people ask for recommendations. You’re much more likely to be impressed by someone
recommended by a friend or family member, than you would be a random stranger you
don’t know without a recommendation.
#27 – Not only does this sound exactly like 99% of pastors, but ironically, it
would mean that the person that added it to the list would be suspect of having a
Jezebel spirit. The entire list is an accusation against people that they believe
has the Jezebel spirit.

The truth is that the vast majority of everything we’ve ever heard about the
Jezebel spirit is a lie. It’s completely fabricated church mythology created as a
means of control. Nobody wants to be accused of having the Jezebel spirit in
church. It immediately makes people act accordingly.

The Bible never says Jezebel became a spirit.

The Bible never mentions a Jezebel spirit.
The Bible doesn’t give us permission to make up spirits.
Operating In The Spirit of Jezebel

There are some that believe that the phrase “the Jezebel spirit” actually refers to
someone operating in like manner to Jezebel. If we stick true to the Bible’s words
concerning the false prophetess Jezebel, then ONLY the following attributes could
be referred to as someone operating in the spirit of Jezebel:

Has prophets murdered.

False prophetess.
Teaches ritual sex.
Teaches idol worship.
Teaches to eat food sacrificed to idols.
These are the only five attributes of Jezebel that are given. Anyone adding
anything extra to the teaching is not being truthful, and should be recognized for
the false teacher that they are IF and only IF they refuse to correct their error
after it is pointed out.

The Breakdown

Many church leaders have a bad habit of completely making up spirits of (fill in
the blank) in order to explain things. This is no different than the pagan cultures
naming gods of (fill in the blank). The Bible does not give us permission to make
up spirits and add them into our teachings or doctrine, nor is it an innocent
mistake. It is false teaching. If we can’t verify what a pastor is teaching by
using the Bible, then we need to point it out. If that pastor then continues to
false teach intentionally, we need to part ways with them while warning others. We
as believers should not allow someone in a leadership position to infect us with
their false teaching just because they have a title.

Interracial Marriage In The Old Testament

The topic of interracial marriage in relation to the Bible often makes many people
uncomfortable. The reason for this is that most of the teaching on it comes from
cherry picking specific situations and attempting to apply them across the board.
This study is an in depth look at what was allowed and what wasn’t allowed when it
came to interracial marriage in the Bible.

Click here for the complete list of interracial marriages in the Bible.
Before we start, we need to understand that mainstream Christianity teaches and
accepts the following view on the origins of the races:

Shem: Hebrews and Arabs

Ham: Africans
Japheth: Europeans and Asians
If we stay true to the above viewpoints and honestly examine the text, we will see
that the Bible’s view on interracial marriage is much different than what is taught
in many churches across the world, and especially in the United States.

The Absence of Japheth

One thing that may not be apparent is that there is no record in the Bible of the
descendants of Japheth mixing with the descendants of Ham or Shem. Most Bible
scholars agree that the descendants of Japheth migrated into Europe, thus
separating themselves from the descendants of Ham and Shem, who mixed and had
children throughout the entire Old Testament.

The Problem With Mixing With Ham’s Descendants

Another major issue that bothers many believers is the claim that all black people
came from Ham. By taking this position, every researcher, preacher, and teacher has
painted themselves into a corner of having to either accept that Hebrews were
mixing with black people, or they have to lie their way into the existence of a
white Hebrew nation. This only becomes an issue for those that outright deny that
Hebrews were black people.

Joseph was mistaken for an Egyptian descendant of Ham

Moses was mistaken for an Egyptian descendant of Ham
Paul was mistaken for an Egyptian descendant of Ham
These are not the only cases of mistaken identity in scripture, due to mixing
between Ham and Shem, but it does provide key insights as to what the Hebrews
looked like. We need only to look at how Egyptians painted themselves. The
following painting of Moses predates the European Renaissance period. When we
compare it to how Egyptians painted themselves, we see that the Bible is 100%
accurate when they point out that people couldn’t tell the two nations apart.

Egyptian Hunting Birds

The evidence speaks for itself that Egypt was a black nation, and the only reason
Hebrews would be mistaken for Egyptians at that point in history was if they were
black too or if they mixed with enough Hamites that they became a black nation. In
either scenario, the Bible never speaks of a white or light Hebrew nation. Let’s
take a look at Hebrew and Hamite mixing before the Exodus.

Hebrews Mixing With Hamites Pre-Exodus

From its very beginning Israel was a mixed nation. In the early chapters of
Genesis, we’re told that the Cushite Nimrod built Babel. It was from Ur, a province
in Babel, that Abraham was called by God. While that doesn’t give us any indication
of race, there are a few tribes Israel that started with mix raced children:

Abraham – His wife Sarah gave him the Egyptian woman Hagar to have a son with.
Their son was named Ishmael, and he went on to marry an Egyptian woman. The tribes
the descended from Ishmael, such as the Kedarites were traditionally viewed as dark
skinned people.
Simeon – His son Shuah was the son of a Canaanite woman, which mainstream
Christianity teaches was a black descendant of Ham. He and Levi also took Canaanite
women as concubines after killing all the men of Shechem for raping their sister
Dinah.
Judah – He had five sons with two different Canaanite women. It is half Canaanite
son Pharez that is the father or the lineage through which the Messiah would come.
Joseph – His sons Ephraim and Manasseh, born to the Egyptian woman Asenath, would
go on to become two of the tribes of Israel, and holders of the birthright. The
birthright gives them the double portion that would usually go to the firstborn son
of Jacob (Reuben).

If we do the math, three out of twelve tribes is equivalent to 25% of the tribes
starting off as half Shemite and half Hamite, which would mean they were dark
skinned people. Even if we work under the false assumption that Hebrews were white,
their children would look like mixed race black people that we see today, and maybe
even darker due to growing up in and living in the intense African sun.

Hebrews Mixing With Hamites Post Exodus

What is often not reflected in movies, documentaries, and probably most Bible
studies, is that a mixed multitude of African descendants of Ham left Egypt with
Israel.

“And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred
thousand on foot that were men, beside children. And a mixed multitude went up also
with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.” – Exodus 12:37-38

This small mention of a mixed multitude coming out of Egypt with Israel after the
Exodus also explains two other mentions of interracial marriage soon after leaving
Egypt.

Marriage #1 – The Israelitish Woman and The Egyptian Man

In the book of Leviticus we see an Israelitish woman married to an Egyptian man,

and they have a kid together. The marriage itself didn’t seem to be a problem since
they lived together among the tribe of Dan.

“And the son of an Israelitish woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among
the children of Israel: and this son of the Israelitish woman and a man of Israel
strove together in the camp; And the Israelitish woman’s son blasphemed the name of
the LORD, and cursed. And they brought him unto Moses: (and his mother’s name was
Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan:)” – Leviticus 24:10-11

Scripture is also clear to point out that the boy was the son of an Egyptian man,
and not an Israelite. This is because lineage in the Bible is tracked through the
father, which would make the boy Egyptian and not Hebrew. The same holds true in
the case of Joseph. Ephraim and Manasseh were both considered Hebrew, even though
their mother Asenath was Egyptian.

Marriage #2 – Moses and His Cushite Wife

During the Exodus there is an odd exchange that has no preceding build up. Miriam
and Aaron confront Moses in the temple about the Cushite woman that he’s married.
We aren’t told anything about her other than the fact that she is indeed a Cushite
(Ethiopian).
“And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he
had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.” – Numbers 12:1

Cushites In The Time of Moses

Cushites In The Time of Moses
The mixed multitude mentioned in Exodus 12:37-38 explains how Moses had time to
find and marry a Cushite woman, while still serving as the leader of the nation of
Israel. It is very likely that Egyptians weren’t the only nationality of Hamites to
come out with the Hebrews. We must also not forget the Japheth was not located in
Africa, but in Europe, which means the mixed multitude could only have consisted of
African nations that descended from Ham.

There is also concrete evidence in the Bible that not only did Africans come out
with Israel, but there are Israelites still living in Africa and will be until
they’re regathered the last time:

“And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the
second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from
Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from
Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.” – Isaiah 11:11

Egypt, Pathros, and Cush are named as three of the locations of “the remnant of his
people.” If his people lived in these countries, it only makes since that they
resemble the people of these countries or they would stand out, and it would be
obvious to everyone who they are. However, that is not what we see in those
countries. There are no records of any non black nations inhabiting those parts of
Africa.

We can also be assured that Hebrews looked similar to Africans because God always
sent them to Africa to hide, but never to Europe. In times of persecution, Hebrews
would flee to Africa to escape, but never to Europe. This is no doubt due to their
appearance, cultural ties, and familiarity with African people, because they’d been
mixing with them since the very beginning.

In the midst of all of the intermarrying between Africans and Hebrews, God never
punishes anyone for the act itself, but specifically for idolatry.

The Rules For Interracial Marriage

The claim that God is against interracial marriage is destroyed when we look at the
words of God to the Israelites. The following verses were his instructions
concerning the non Hebrew nations Israel went to war with.

“When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies, and the LORD thy God hath
delivered them into thine hands, and thou hast taken them captive, And seest among
the captives a beautiful woman, and hast a desire unto her, that thou wouldest have
her to thy wife; Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house; and she shall shave
her head, and pare her nails; And she shall put the raiment of her captivity from
off her, and shall remain in thine house, and bewail her father and her mother a
full month: and after that thou shalt go in unto her, and be her husband, and she
shall be thy wife.” – Deuteronomy 21:11-13
Geographically, the areas that Israel inhabited were occupied by descendants of
Ham, which mainstream Christian doctrine teaches were black people. Logic dictates
that if the above provisions were made concerning the nations Israel encounter,
then God was not and is not opposed to interracial marriage, at least between the
descendants of Ham and the nation of Israel. As stated before, the European
descendants of Japheth are not seen mixing with the descendants of Ham or Shem.

Canaanite's Had Black Facial Features

Canaanite’s Had Black Facial Features
Mass Interracial Marriage In Israel

It’s almost impossible to take an honest look at the Bible and not come away with
the impression that Hebrews were dark skinned people. One of the civilizations that
they had the most contact with were the various tribes in Canaan, collectively
known as the Canaanites.

Abraham lived among the Canaanites.

Jacob lived among the Canaanites.
Jacob’s sons took Canaanite wives.
When we look at art depicting male Canaanites, we see facial features such as their
lips and nose that are very much African features. Generations of mixing with the
Canaanites would no doubt result in Hebrews having similar features over time, if
they didn’t already have them to begin with.

In art, Canaanite women are often depicted with wide hips, big butts, and African
facial features. One example of such depictions is the following statue:

In the book of Judges we see the following comment:

“And the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, Hittites, and Amorites, and
Perizzites, and Hivites, and Jebusites: And they took their daughters to be their
wives, and gave their daughters to their sons, and served their gods. And the
children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and forgat the LORD their
God, and served Baalim and the groves.” – Judges 3:5-7

The tribes listed are all Canaanite descendants of Ham, which mainstream
Christianity teaches are black people. Even though the Bible is clear that Israel
engaged in mass interracial marriage with the descendants of Ham, they weren’t
punished for it. They were sent into slavery for eight years for worshiping other
gods, but not for the marriages themselves (Judges 3:8-9).

This one single event solidifies the belief that Hebrews were not Europeans nor
were they light skinned people. At the very minimum they had very strong negroid
features due to generations of mixing starting with Abraham and continuing into the
time of Solomon according to the Biblical text.

Interracial Marriage In The New Testament

There are many Christian churches that teach against interracial marriage outright,
and then there are those that have doctrine that seems subtle in its opposition to
these marriages. They constantly warn those considering to “consider the
consequences” and “consider the cultural differences” before getting into an
interracial marriage. The reality is that the New Testament has nothing to say
about interracial marriages, but keeps it’s focus on believers only marrying other
believers.

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath
righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” –
2 Corinthians 6:14

This is not a new concept, but an already established law found in the Old
Testament. Many people of all colors attempt to use the following Old Testament
verses to prove their point against interracial marriage, but the Bible makes it
clear that the law against the marriages had nothing to do with race, but with
religious beliefs:

“When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess
it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites,
and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the
Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou; And when the LORD thy God
shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them;
thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them: Neither shalt thou
make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his
daughter shalt thou take unto thy son. For they will turn away thy son from
following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be
kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.” – Deuteronomy 7:1-4

God’s commandment to not marry into these seven specific tribes descended from Ham
makes no mention of race. It is to keep Israel religiously pure. These verses
cannot be used by an honest believer in an attempt to make a Biblical case against
interracial marriage.

Is Interracial Marriage A Sin?

The fact is that the Bible is not against interracial marriage, but is firmly
against inter-religious marriage, regardless of skin color. Those that preach
against interracial marriage only do so out of their own prejudice and without the
backing of the totality of scripture. Ultimately, there is nothing in scripture
that calls interracial marriage a sin.

All praises to the Most High brother for the VERY SPECIFIC and CLEAR understanding
of what is and isn’t supplemented by the scripture.

Just as you said its small minded ‘ color’ induced ignorant mentality trying to
issue offense of RACE being some carnal deed. Fsct of the matter is that most ”
biased” types fail to know that the relationships that failed with couples was due
to removing themselves ( and / others ) from the Father…period. Nothing to so with
color

I was with you until you made it seem like you are even encouraging inter RACIAL
marriage. If whites are gentiles aka japheth & also mixed with Esau and if their
bloodline is largely mixed with fallen Angeles and other stuff then how can we the
Hebrews and specifically Israel mix with them. Then even physically there is no
jews nor gentiles, them we just one people physically. When you speak of shemites
and hamites inter marrying it’s not inter RACIAL cause both those groups are by
large black/dark skinned so maybe that’s why Yah even allowed but there are also
many scriptures which says to put away HEATHEN WOMEN and their children and yes
that may mean their unbelieving wives if it’s between ham and stem but still more
like you said there s no mention of ANY MARRIAGE WITH JAPHETH & ISRAEL. And also
you fail to mention that colonisation and slavery has twisted our thought process
and becuase of it our dating choice with white people is 99% based on
misinformation, an inferiority complex and LUST/ FETISH. You fail to mention those
huge huge factors. And a mixed child between a white a black person is not an
Israelite even if you go by fathers side it’s just not like that in practicality.
That fathers side only applied between Israelite tribes intermingling within their
different tribes and if between ham & shem. So pls if you are trying to even give
license for people to inter RACIALLY marry because you probably ate married to one
yourself it’s not right. We are not one people on a lot of levels and we don’t get
into these marriages and relationships with them based on pure love or an
indepedent mind esoecially not after colonisation and slavery happened, I’m sorry I
have to disagree with you on this.

Black History In The Bible
1. I noticed you didn’t provide a single scripture to back your position. There’s
usually a reason for that.

2. I’m not encouraging anything. I’m pointing out the truth without regard to how
you or anyone else feels about it.

3. Esau mixed with Ishmaelites, both of which populated the Middle East. Fallen
angel mixed with Hamites in Canaan. All those giant tribes lived in Canaan and we
know for a fact Hebrews mixed with Canaanites. Whether or not those Canaanites had
mixed with Esau isn’t made clear. But we know Edomites lived in the area before
Israel was freed from Egypt. (Numbers 13:33)

4. You mention that there are scriptures telling us to put away heathen women, but
neglect to mention that there were certain Hamite and Hebrew tribes they weren’t
allowed to mix with either… such as Canaanites (Hamites) and Moabites (Hebrews).

5. Mixing was about religion NOT skin color… as I pointed out in the study. Not
sure what’s so hard to grasp. Let go of your hatred and read the word. Every
warning about mixing was being led into the worship of false gods… and NOT once
does it say “it’s because of skin color”.

6. If we all become one in Christ… then a European that believes in the TRUE Christ
(not the European deception) marries a Hebrew that believes the same, there is no
issue at all according to scripture. Feel free to find me a verse that says
otherwise.

7. What official statistics do you have that PROVE that 99% of those that want to
date white people only want to do so because of inferiority or lust? That’s an
argument from ignorance and assumptions based on your own bias against it… not
scripture or science or psychology… just black hater nonsense. The reason I “fail
to mention them” is because I don’t need to invent fake arguments to support a bias
like you do. Provide evidence.

8. Show me in the Bible where a Hebrew man that has a child with a European is not
considered a Hebrew. That’s not Biblical… so I know you won’t show up with any
verse to support the claim.

9. And of course the absolutely moronic assumption that I’m married to a white
woman and therefore need to justify it… that’s stupidity at the highest level.
Anyone that knows me personally knows I’ve NEVER dated outside of my race… ever.
100% of my relationships have been with black women. So don’t come here with your
false nonsense speaking on what you don’t know. Dumbest statement possible.

And even if I had dated outside my race or married a white woman… I don’t have to
justify anything to you or any other person on this planet. Who are you to me to
justify myself to you? I’m under grace and anyone I’d tie myself to would believe
as I do, and would be under grace as well. I understand the need to not be
unequally yoked with non believers. There are NO laws, commandments, or suggestions
that forbid mutual believers from marrying based on race. It’s just not in the
Bible.

10. You can’t speak to why people get into relationships with other people. That’s
an absurd assumption that they don’t get married for pure love… but you assume all
Hebrews do? I can 100% guarantee you that there are interracial couples married for
love… and I can 100% guarantee you that not all Hebrew couples marry for love. Its
ignorant to assume otherwise.

More importantly… the words were written in a time where ARRANGED marriages were
made for finances and power… not true love. Was it true love when Jacob married
Leah by accident? Nope… but didn’t stop him from getting her pregnant multiple
times.

Was it pure love when Abraham got Hagar pregnant upon Sarah’s suggestion? Nope… but
she went from concubine to wife.

I could drop more examples, but the point is… who cares if the marriage is based on
true love or not? The Bible NEVER says you have to get married for true love, but
it does say how to conduct yourself within the marriage.

The reality is you come off as a hater that makes up excuses to justify your hate,
which is why you didn’t provide a single scripture to back a single word of your
rebuttal. Instead you provide pseudo psychology, false statements, and assumptions.
That’s not solid doctrine… that’s self deception.

From Niger to Nigger: Simeon and The Other Black Apostles
December 11, 2016 by Black History In The Bible
Get More Black History In The Bible For Only $1

Did you know that the apostle Simeon was nicknamed Niger… pronounced NEE-GER in
Latin? Growing up, I was taught that it was pronounced ny-jer, so I never gave it
any additional thought. A couple of years ago, Xavier Jackson brought up the
reference in Acts, which motivated me to give it a second look. Let’s start by
looking at the verse:

“Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as
Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which
had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.” – Acts 13:1

We’re going to dig into every aspect of this verse, starting with the word “Niger”
and then we’re going to investigate what seems to be a list of black apostles.

From Niger To Nigger

What we have above is another of the many interesting references to skin color
hidden all over the Bible. In Western culture, we are taught that the word Niger is
pronounced ny-jer, but that is incorrect:

As we can hear, the word is pronounced a little different than it is pronounced in

the West. We run into similar mispronunciations like this all of the time, even
though the people know for a fact that they are pronouncing it wrong. They choose
to go out of their way to pronounce words incorrectly, which leads to others
pronouncing them the same way. The most often occurs with names of people of color.

2 Pac – The majority of people pronounce it TWO-POCK. However, some non black
people choose to say it wrong as TWO-PACK, even though they are capable of
pronouncing it correctly. This is done on purpose as a sign of disrespect.
50 Cent – The majority of people pronounce it FIFTY-CENT. However, many non black
people go out of their way to pronounce it as FIDDY-CENT for whatever reason, in an
attempt to sound “black”. 50 Cent explains in his own words.

I do not believe that the pronunciation of words has any racist intent behind them,
but are a result of what people THINK they heard, when it was pronounced, at least
in most cases. Sometimes it’s just outright stereotyping. When we look at the
progression of the pronunciation of the word “Niger”, we run into something
similar.

nee-jer
nee-ger
nigger
In order to understand why black people went from being called Niger to Nigger, we
must look at the definition of the word.

The Definition of Niger

Dark, Black – The Latin Dictionary

Black – Bible Study Tools
In Spanish, we find another more familiar word that also has the same meaning:

Negro: Mid 16th century: via Spanish and Portuguese from Latin niger, nigr- black.
– Oxford Dictionary

Spanish is a Latin based language, and Latin was spoken by the Roman conquerors
that the Hebrews referred to as Gentiles (Matthew 20:19). The early uses of the
word niger and later negro, were not racist, but were more descriptive of skin
color. When slaves were brought to the Americas, the descriptive terms were later
turned into racial slurs meant to degrade slaves and their descendants.

But Wait There’s More…

This is solely my opinion, but I believe that the term “nigger” arose not only
because of cultural mispronunciation, but also because it was a broad term used to
describe black people in general. Slave owners had no desire to learn individual
tribes or even names of slaves. Because of that, slaves were renamed and the
broader term “niger” became “nigger” as a means of reference.

Over time the word “nigger” took on racist and hateful undertones, which is why the
word is so taboo in modern society. Again, that is just my opinion, but it seems to
be the case based on the history of the word.

Now that we’ve looked at Simeon the black apostle, let’s take a look at the other
people mentioned in Acts 13:1.

The List of Black Apostles

At first glance, Acts 13:1 just looks like a list of names of apostles, and it is.
However, as is the norm with scripture, there is a lot more to what is being
presented in the text. Let’s look at each of the names in the list.

Barnabas – A Levite born in Cyprus. Cyprus was ruled an inhabited by people of

color before and after Roman invasion and occupation. It’s also interesting to note
that Moses was a Levite as well, and was also mistaken for an Egyptian. It is very
likely that Barnabas was a person of color.
Simeon – He was surnamed Niger, pronounced “nee-jer”, which means “black skin” in
Latin.
Lucius of Cyrene – Cyrene is a city located in Libya, Africa
Manaen – Only mentioned once in the Bible. Nothing else is known about him from
scripture.
Saul – Later renamed Paul, he was from the tribe of Benjamin, and was mistaken for
an Egyptian (Acts 21:38).
With the exception of Manaen, the other apostles listed are either called black,
originate from Africa, lived in a historically ethnic area, or was mistaken for an
African. Reason and logic dictate that these were not light or white skinned
people.

The Breakdown
While it is certainly PC to make the claim that the Bible doesn’t talk about skin
color, it’s certainly not true at all. All over the Bible we see references to skin
color. The more we dig into scripture to find the meaning behind the names,
locations, and culture… the more we see that the Bible is a document written by
people of color, to people of color, but later included the Gentiles for redemption
through Christ.

Jasper and Sardine Stones: Case Closed on The Color of The Creator

Many people have pointed out that both Daniel and John describe Christ as having
skin the color of “burned bronze”, but what about The Most High? John provides a
description of him as well.

Jasper
Sardine / Sardis / Sardius
The best part about the above is that they are found in scripture, which means that
anyone that wishes to dispute this information, must call the Bible a flat out lie,
which instantly exposes where their heart truly is. This description is found in
the book of Revelation.

“And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was
a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.” – Revelation 4:3

We can see that both the Jasper and Sardis stones are brown stones. This adds
credibility to the following painting that was made before the Renaissance, which
shows the arms of The Most High reaching down from heaven to help Moses and the
Hebrews cross the Red Sea.

Brown Skinned Moses Crossing The Red Sea

When you pursue truth and catch it, you’ll find that there is CONSISTENCY. When you
chase the lie of an olive, Middle Eastern, or white savior, you’ll find nothing but
contradiction and disappointment. Both of the above stones would also fall under
the definition of “ruddy” as used in the Bible.

The Breakdown

There is more than enough solid Biblical and historical evidence to prove our
position that the Creator and the Messiah are black men. People can play semantics
and say “brown”, “dark skin”, and anything other than black, but we all know that
they only wanna get specific when it comes to the “blackness” of Christ. Outside of
that, they generally classify black people of all shades as “black people”. The
only other exception is when we refer to Obama as “the first black president”, and
suddenly the narrative changes to, “we’ll he’s not black, he’s mixed”. They only do
this to downplay black excellence.

“Black people enslaved black people”… why don’t they get shade specific with this
statement?
“Black on black crime”… why don’t they get shade specific with this statement?
“Black history month”… why don’t they get shade specific with this statement?

These are just a few examples of what they say when they want to make a broad based
statement about black people, without regard to specific skin tone. They lump us
all together as “black”, so there’s no reasonable explanation for them to stop
doing it when it comes to Christ… except that they do not want Christ to be black…
anything but a black man.

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word,
then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall
make you free.” – John 8:31-32

We know the truth… we can prove the truth… Its’ time for our people to turn to the
true and living Messiah, and away from the false European, olive, and Middle
Eastern lies that cannot save anyone. We were warned. Don’t ignore the warning:

“I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the
seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things
that are right. Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are
escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven
image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.” – Isaiah 45:19-20

(Reader Reply) The Quran, Islam, Muhammad, and The Bible – God Is Not The Author of
Confusion

Today’s post was inspired by an ongoing debate with someone that cherry picks
verses from the Bible in an attempt to validate Islam, the Quran, and Muhammad. And
as you’ll see, approaching the Bible with preconceived notions and trying to force
it to fit an already false interpretation is the wrong way to go about it. With
that said, the one thing that I do respect and appreciate about the discussion with
Alex is that he did bring scripture to the table, unlike many people that just
leave claims without any scripture references to back those claims. In that regard,
many believers can learn a lot from him.

Disclaimer #1: Some of the conversation has been reordered in order to address
everything topic by topic vs a play by play response, because it did go from
subject to subject and back again.
Disclaimer #2: I believe in the Bible, but I also believe that there are historical
truths in other books such as the Quran, Book of Mormon, etc. However, while I do
view other books as valuable for historical reference, I do not put the same stock
in them spiritually as I do scripture.

“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the
saints.” – 1 Corinthians 14:33

The Confusion of Islam

The problem with interpretation is that many people start off with a belief and
then try to find anything to support that belief INSTEAD of reading for
understanding and then letting the context of what they’ve read decide their
beliefs. If we all did that, we could avoid many of the false teachings that people
attempt to push. Let’s get started.

“First, I would like to address that I am human, and being human, I am subject to
error. With that being said I am inclined to share truth as God has allowed me to
discern it.

I notice that people have difficulty worshiping and believing in God without
humanizing the All mighty.

From the beginning (Genesis) we notice the initial humanization of the Most High:

“And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the
seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day
and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created
and made.” – Genesis 2:2-3

Prophet Jesus (peace and blessings be upon him, not curses) nullified this clear
theological error:

In his defense Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at his work to this very
day, and I too am working.” – John 5:17

Jesus did 2 things in this verse, he cleared the debate regarding the Sabbath, and
He detached God from human attributes.

King David said something similar in the book of Psalms, revealed to him by the
Highest:

“The guardian of Israel never slumber nor sleeps” – Psalm 121:4

I would also like to add that the Quran offers an even more clear correction:

“And We did certainly create the heavens and earth and what is between them in six
days, and there touched us no weariness” – Quran 50:38

I would also like to add that the Quran offers over 200 plus corrections to
biblical errors.

The Quran corrects matters such as, “seeing God” or man being made in the “image”
of God.” – Alex
