Notes:

1. Bring your textbook to every class as it will be used in each class and lab.
2. Please review the topic before class (see schedule on next page that lists dates of when
chapters will be covered). Starting with Chapter 2, there will be a quiz at the beginning
of every class.
3. Please make use of available office hours. Students are encouraged to make an
appointment, as appointments will take precedent over “drop-ins”. A 5- or 10-minute
visit is often all it takes to clear up a problem area.
4. If you are unable to write a midterm or final exam at the scheduled time, please discuss it
with me before the test is to be written. Otherwise, if you miss a test or exam, you will
receive a grade of zero.
5. March 8, 2019 is the last day to withdraw, without academic penalty. After this date,
students withdrawing will receive an “F” grade.
6. Cell phone usage is not permitted during the class. Please be sure to turn off your cell
phone before the class begins.
7. If students are using a laptop to take notes, no social media (i.e., face book, msn
messenger, twitter, etc.) is to be used in class as it is a distraction for all. Anyone using
laptop or other electronic devices for any other purpose than taking class notes will be
asked to leave the classroom.
8. Late assignments will not be accepted, and you will receive a zero grade for the
assignment.
9. If you are more than 5 minutes late, you will not be permitted to enter the class. Late
arrivals are disruptive to the class.
10. Cell phones and electronic devices (except a non-programmable calculator), are not
permitted when tests and exams are being written.
11. Calculators may be spot checked during tests.
12. Students are expected to write the final exam at its scheduled time, during the exam
period.
13. It is inappropriate to ask what questions will be on the midterm exams or final exams.
All material covered in class can be tested.
14. It is inappropriate to ask for any grades to be changed, either throughout the semester or
at the end of the semester. Any emails asking for grade changes at the end of the
semester will not be answered. Your final grade is the grade you have earned.
