1. SCOPE OF WORK
The scope of this method statement describes the procedures for Painting of
External outer part for Butane Tank ( T - 301)
2. JOB CHECKLIST
2.2. Check the appropriate tools and equipment for the job and all are in good condition
and has valid certificates.
2.3. Ensure the competency of personnel to do the job and trained for working at heights.

4. LOCATION
The activity will be located at the LPG Refregerated Tanjung Sekong – Merak Bnaten.
5. WORK PROCEDURES
5.1. Preliminaries
a) The painting shall start after the Hydro-Pneumatic Testing and after the

installation of gondola.
b) Painting will be done on outer shell, roof, nozzle, manhole and accessories.
b) The personnel must check the availability of all tools and equipment required.
c) Tied the painting hose on the gondola by any means sufficient enough not to
fall down. Personnel must wear full body harness which is hook at the guard rail
gondola. Then, start on painting works.
a) Painting shall start from top of roof dome going down will be provided.
c) Tied the necessary hose by any means sufficient enough not to fall down.
d) Provide life line with rope grab where the full body harness is hooked to
prevent falling hazard.
e) Start painting on the top part of rope dome and stop upon reaching the
temporary platform. Remove temporary platform.
Notes:
1. Provide necessary protection to avoid spread of garnet and over spray of paint

that will disturb other people who are working near the tank perimeter.
2. Ensure the air supplied to painting from air purifier filter prior to start the job.
6. KEY PERSONNEL
Tank Superintendent – Coordinate with the concerned supervisor, inspector and the
company's representative to carry out the job in safe manner.
7. COORDINATION
a) The over-all responsible for the job will be the site manager.
b) The in-charge for the activity shall be the tank superintendent; he will coordinate
with the company representatives and his subordinates before and during operation.
c) In case of emergency cases, the tank superintendent will discuss with the site
manager and concerned personnel as well as the safety officer.
d) The tank superintendent will closely monitor the activity and recommends
precautionary safety measures if any unsafe act.

9. SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY
a) All personnel assign for blasting and painting must wear proper PPE and equipment.
b) Tool box talk shall be conducted by supervisor and safety officer to discuss the JHA

d) Check the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) of painting materials prior to start the
job.
e) Supervisor responsible for the job shall be at site during working hours.
