Getting People Involved

1 2
STORIES TO TELL GLIMPSES
One of the reasons why people keep doing things that harm While making the people realize what the bad parts of
the biodiversity is because of ignorance of the society are today, we must also show them a possible
consequences. The first part of this phase is letting the future where biodiversity is well taken care of, again
people know the current state of the environment and what through use of different forms of entertainment. This is a
problems they cause, not in the traditional way but in the conditioning of the mind and we will prepare them for the
new ways, in short films, infomercials and the like. As next phase of the plan .
students we can produce small projects like this.

Action Implementation

3 SOS (Save Our Shores)

According to an article by Philstar Global, one of the main crisises we are facing is with the issue of our waters. We
have "more than 400 species and 70 genera of hard corals, the country has one of the most diverse coral faunas, with reefs
that are at par with the Great Barrier Reef of Australia." We have 22,000 species of shellfish, more or less 824 species of
marine macrobenthic algae and the numbers go on. But since many of the Filipinos living in the coastal areas are
engaged in illegal fishing, these marine organisms are endangered. SOS is a project that will teaches the fisherfolk on
what kind of marine life are they allowed to fish and what are they supposed to leave alone.  SOS seminars will give
them more livelihood programs so that they can earn more without harming the sensitive marine life, and there will
be also seminars that will teach them how to be protectors of the sea. As students, we can look for resource speakers
to help us in having seminars like these.

4 Touch Me Not
Land conversion is one of the reasons that the animals in the ecosystem lose their natural habitat. Losing
their habitat can cause them to look for other places for shelter, but more often than not, they are more
likely to not survive after losing the natural habitat that is perfect for them. Touch Me Not is a project that
will ask of us, students to talk to people of all age and class and discuss about how important conservation
is

5 Plant Goodness
Trees  play a big part in biodiversity. They serve as a habitat to different species of animals and they also
become the source of life of other living organisms that can be found in the forest. Plant Goodness is a project
that aims to encourage people to plant trees to promote the preservation of different organisms that aid in the
flow of the ecosystem. As students, we can immerse ourselves and plant trees in various places.
6 Save Lights
Too much electricity consumption can have a massive effect on the environment. Solar panels can power home
appliances. This project would be a promotion of having solar panel powered light bulbs so that the electricity
consumption would be lessened by at least 56 watts per day. As students, we can look for these companies
and ask them for sponsorships and distribute it for a lower cost so that people will opt to avail these solar
panels

7 8 Monitoring

ASSESS IMPROVE
After sometime of implementing the If the project proves to be effective,
action phase, we  now have to pause then we can look for more ways to
and assess if the measures that we continuously upgrade this project.
have done help in aiding Part of this phase is also assessing
biodiversity or not. There will be the shortcomings, answering the
different groups to evaluate each questions like: "what are the
project's effectivity. weaknesses that we can now
strengthen since its establishment?,

or if it proves ineffective, what can
Sunstaining we do to fix it?

9 Continuing Loops
These projects are long term. Once going through the assessment phase, there should be committees that are
tasked to ensure the proper implementation the plan.

10 Going Through Time

The project should withsand time. This is why the last phase of this project should be teaching of the plan to
the next generation, starting from the young people. Involving the youth groups when taking action and
regularly assessing the effectivity of the project. We can also regularly check for more projects and the
expansion of the reach of the activities.
