Abstract

TITLE: STRENGTHENING CITIZEN COMPETITIONS WITH LEARNING BASED


ON PROBLEMS THROUGH THE EXELEARNING APP

This research project sought to strengthen citizen competences with problem-based


learning through the eXeLearning application in citizen competences subjects, with
the ninth graders of the Educational Institution INEM "Jorge Isaacs".

The research was born of the need to strengthen the citizen competences of ninth
graders, who came with deficiencies in the results of standardized tests, was evident
in the results that the evaluation of diagnosis type or pre-test, the results of the
KNOWLEDGE grade 9 tests and the observation of the process. A plan was
designed that was developed in 3 stages, which are outlined sequentially. It was
based on the standard evidence corresponding to the Citizen Competences
program, of the MEN trying to respond to the main needs identified in the project on
the issues that affect the results of the basic standards of citizens' competences.
The research is carried out with a focus on the mixed approach (qualitative and
quantitative) the mixed approach constitutes a methodical, practical and critical
research process group and involves the collection and study of quantitative and
Qualitative. On the other hand, surveys were formalized by students and teachers in
order to identify some of the particularities in the learning teaching process, at the
same time, a diagnostic or pre-test evaluation that placed the existing academic
scenario of the educating ninth grade.

Surveys administered to teachers and students of the INEM "Jorge Isaacs"


Educational Institution and the diagnostic or pre-test evaluation will be conducted
with the primary source to achieve one of the specific objectives of the project which
is determine the current academic level of ninth graders in the subject of citizen
competences.

The implementation of the EXeLearning Virtual Learning Environment in the


development of the classes, brought with it great advances in the strengthening of
the teaching process – learning students, because of this, in the degree chosen for
the implementation of the ABP or Problem-Based Learning technological tool, it was
possible to reduce many of the shortcomings that brought with it most students from
previous degrees, such as the solution of problems in Plurality, identity and
assessment of and assessment of differences, coexistence and peace, Democratic
participation and responsibility. Positively impacting the outcome of the final or post-
test evaluation.
