WARNING
• The appropriate Standards provide details and guidelines for safely installing
the electrical equipment.
• Failure to comply with the appropriate Standards may result in personal injury
and/or equipment damage.

WARNING
If storage conditions are not suitable, or in case of storage duration more
than 3 months, CONVERTEAM recommends to keep the packing closed to
ensure adequate protection against corrosion and dust.
3.1.2 Storage
If MV7000 or any part/component of MV7000 equipment is to be temporarily stored prior to
installation, then the following actions should be undertaken:
• Re-pack the drive equipment in its original packaging material. If this is not possible, the
equipment should be enclosed in plastic sheet in a proper manner to prevent the component(s)
from the exposure to dirt, dust or moisture that can affect the system or any of the components.
° °
• Store the drive equipment in a clean dry atmosphere with a temperature within –20 C to +60 C.
• If the drive is unpacked in a warm environment, condensation may occur. If condensation is
seen, the drive should not be used until its temperature has stabilized to the level of the working
environment.
3.2.1 Shipping
MV7000 will be supplied with either a base skid, or a top lifting frame (selection done by
CONVERTEAM according to workshop preferences). This lifting frame should remain fixed to the
top of the drive cabinet assembly until it is placed in its final installation position.

WARNING
• Exercise due care and attention to ensure that equipment is not
damaged during lifting.

Analog Circuits, typically: Sensitive
• low-level reference and measurement signals A
• RTDs, Thermocouples, and typical instrument loop (4-20mA) Up to 24 V and 20
• CT and VT measurements mA
• Hall effect devices
• sensor power supplies
Note: for mechanical reasons, fiber optic cables are categorized as signal Level A
Relay Logic and control, AC (50 or 60Hz) or DC relay ≤ 10A and ≤ 250 V, typically:
• emergency stops
• signalling Indifferent
PLC Digital I/O Signals AC (50 or 60Hz) or DC ≤ 10A and ≤ 250 V typically: B
> 24 V to 250 V
• switching sensors
• switched actuators
Conditioned AC (50 or 60Hz) and conditioned DC power supplies ≤ 20A and ≤ 250 V.
Unconditioned AC (50 or 60 Hz) or DC Power circuits ≤ 1000 V, typically: AC \ DC Power
• distribution circuits C1 Circuits
• harmonic filter circuits
≤ 1000V
• fixed speed motor power supplies.
Switched AC \ DC
Power circuits greater than 1 kW and ≤1000 V, derived from chopping type power Power Circuits
supplies (DC thyristor, AC PWM, AC Cycloconverter, AC Synchroconverter), typically: C2
• variable speed motor power supplies
> 1kW and ≤ 1000V
Medium voltage AC or DC power circuits, typically: AC \ DC Power
• distribution circuits D1 Circuits
• harmonic filter circuits
> 1000V

Switched AC \ DC
Medium voltage power circuits derived from chopping type power supplies (DC

B 300 / 300 600 1200 1500
C1 600 300 / 300 900 1200
C2 900 600 300 / 600 900

D2 1800 1500 1200 900 300 /
The above recommended distances are based on the use of solid trays with covers for signal
classification Levels A and B and ladder type tray for all other segregation categories.
When cable is installed in solid grounded steel conduit or enclosed in ducting with good
circumferential magnetic properties, the separation distances in above table can be halved.
Notes:
1- Right angle crossing of trays can be carried out with the distance reduced to 50 mm between
trays of differing signal classification.
2- In the absence of one of the signal classification categories, observe the following procedures.
• For long cable lengths (>100 m) it is recommended that the distances in above table be
maintained.
• For short cable lengths (≤100 m) the tray separation could be reduced by one column of
the above table. E.g. if category C2 is absent, the separation of A from D1 and D2 could be
reduced as follows:
Levels A B C1 D1 D2
A / 300 600 900 1500
10/31/200710/31/200710/31/200710/31/200713:10 PM
4- Apart from the two exceptions below, mixing of noise level is prohibited:
• The positioning of a separation corner allows the routing of B and C1 level cables on the
same support.
• In order to group levels A and B together, the same method is allowed for short routes
(≤20m).
3.4.3.3 Grounding
The cable trays must be interconnected with the equipotential ground network.
For this purpose, a bare copper wire is fixed every 10 m over the entire length of the route and
connected to the ground network at both ends. Moreover, the cable trays are interconnected at
least once every 30 m.

WARNING
• Hazardous Voltages are present within this equipment. These voltages may
exist even after isolation of the main and auxiliary supply sources.
• CONFIRM that the stored energy in ALL capacitor circuits is DISCHARGED and
the drive system is GROUNDED before working on the equipment. (Refer to
Section 6 of User manual for the Grounding Procedure.)
In MV7000 standard design, cable access for all cables is from bottom. An overview of cables
access areas is given in Figure 3-5. This section provides a guide to each cabling zone.
