Reaction paper on CINESTELA

Whoever we are, we exist with one another. No man is an island. It is possible to live without the
internet, but not with humans.
The gift of talent was created not just for ourselves but to entertain and to help those people
around us.
I was amused by those teachers in the stage because their part was well executed. It is a proof
that Lousian teachers are not only good in teaching their respective subjects but also in imparting
lessons through entertainment. Through a powerful song and dance, the first group of performer
Department of Psychology, imitate the movie “The Greatest Showman”. They promote the idea that no
dream is impossible. Whatever strata I belong, I believe that being ambitious is acceptable. It reflects
my healthy self-esteem. The second group of performer, Department of Theology, imitate the movie
“Star Wars”. Through dance and skit, the message they want to convey is about father-son relationship.
Like our Father who is willing to help, forgive and accept us no matter how sinner we are. His love is
unconditional. He always saves us in our darkest time. The message is heavy if you are really to fathom
its meaning. The third group, Department of Physical Education, talks about sacrifice and courage just
like in the movie “Rio”. The stuntmen are courageous to hang their selves in the stage just to represent
the birds in the movie. Those sacrifices and courage deeds made me reminisce what happened to the
Spix’s macaw. I compare myself to one of the Spix’s macaw, Blu. He is weak, cannot fly. He is afraid
of exposure, very low self-esteem. But eventually he learns how to fly, fly above and beyond. He
succeeded his comfort zone. The fourth group, Department of Political and Social Sciences, opened
my eyes wide about social inequality. Our society is establishing social gaps. Isolation of sufferers of
HIV, LGBT community, economic status, intellectual and cognitive capabilities and the like. We are all
born with equal dignity and rights, we must not be insensitive and narrow minded to that matter. Like
the Trolls, we also lose our true colors if we are not in the proper disposition of our hearts. Second to
the last, the Beauty and the Beast by Department of Professional Education. I was touched in the
message “choosing personality over superficial qualities”. I am not confident to my superficial quality,
but because of them, my hopes were renewed. I am more confident now to believe that inner self matter
most. The last group, combination of Department of Philosophy and Language and Communication,
convinced me that everything is simple when you break it down. The movie “Mama Mia” will wake up
us to reality that any problem that will come to our way can be overthrown easily when we broke it down
and manage it slowly and surely. Learning is a lifelong process, but if we strategize it to become easy,
then it would turn out to be an entertaining one.
I would like to thank STELA for giving us meaningful entertainment in the midst of stressful days
and sleepless nights. Overall, the production was great and hoping to watch it again next academic
year.
