Charles S. Cockell a leading British scientist, and Director of the UK Centre for Astrobiology. He has
also contributed to plans for the human exploration of Mars.

Brief Political career

In 1992 Cockell stood as parliamentary candidate for the “Forward to Mars Party” against incumbent
Prime Minister John Major (Huntingdon (UK Parliament constituency). The party advocated the
increased involvement of Britain in the exploration of Mars, the European Space's Human exploration
programme and the construction of a station on Mars. The party received 91 votes in the election.

However, the project of the British political party Forward to Mars, had a very ephemeral existence,
only in 1992.

Mars would be the second objective for the development of the planet Earth in all respects, why?
Because with a strong economic investment to Mars promotes many jobs directly and indirectly related
to the planet Mars in the economic, technological, scientific and cultural. When a country's budget
increases for research, investment and development towards a future colonization of Mars generated
new jobs, new technologies, economic and cultural growth in the countries of the Earth.

A strong link with Mars and in a future colonization can create a sustainable economy for the
Earth.

Platform of the Mars Party

1. Creation of the Agency for the exploration, colonization to Mars and other organizations related to
the red planet that will help develop the economy, employment in the Earth and boost the economy.

2. The creation of laws that promote the initiative private, public, educational and cultural research
with new instrumental exploration of policies and colonization to Mars. Law of Mars is called as Mars
Act.

3. To promote the exploration of Mars to study its properties and development of new materials that
may be useful for the Earth.

4. To incorporate the theme of the planet Mars in school, education and cultural awareness in the
future.

Biography.

Pedro Villanueva was born in Havana in 1974, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1988 when
he was an art student in high school, He drew small solar-powered probes-satellites in the form of
pencil that orbited in space, today it is a reality, the well-known Cubesat. He also drew the 360 °
cameras that were walking exploring streets through every city in the world. Madness in 1988, but it is a
reality today, Google Maps Street. A teenage artist, he was a lover of space and technology. His fantasy
came true 30 years later. Unfortunately his notebooks were lost. What about Mars, will be a prophecy
just like his drawings?

Upon graduating in fine arts, he dedicated to painting Havana and the social criticism of the time. He
succeeded and traveled exhibiting his art in Europe for two years. For reasons of life, he had to emigrate
to Chilean Patagonia in 2000 and then he became nationalized. He worked hard to develop the culture
of the region, his dreams could be seen years later in the region of Chilean Patagonia that has more than
four spaces and centers of culture.

Today he works with the mayor of the city in the area of cultural management in the capital of the end
of the world Punta Arenas.

The interest in the planet Mars comes when his friend Pedro Moyano, a nationalized Australian and
was a Lan Chile airline pilot and currently retired. He lent him a book about the history of Australia.
Reading the book Villanueva discovers William Dawes, the astronomer of Sydney and his son. And
began studying the biography of both. William Rutter Dawes and fell in love with the drawings of Mars
and his research, there Pedro Villanueva began the journey to investigate the planet Mars and future
exploration.
