Madison’s Hat by Wendi Dunlap


An easy hat in two colors of bulky yarn that knits up quickly. A
good project to do to learn stranded knitting.

Decrease round 2: K all.


Decrease round 3: *K7 [8, 9, 10, 11], K2tog, repeat from * to the
end of the round.
Decrease round 4: K all.
Decrease round 5: *K6 [7, 8, 9, 10], K2tog, repeat from * to the
end of the round.
Decrease round 6: K all.
Decrease round 7: *K5 [6, 7, 8, 9], K2tog, repeat from * to the
end of the round.
Decrease round 8: *K4 [5, 6, 7, 8], K2tog, repeat from * to the
end of the round.
Continue in this way, knitting one less stitch between K2tog
each round, until 6 sts remain. Break yarn, pull yarn tail
through the last 6 stitches with tapestry needle and pull tight
to close the top of the hat.
Attach pompom if you like, or leave it plain.
Weave in ends, and you have a warm comfy hat!
