I. Four (4) Cardinal Safety Rules (recite in order)
1. All firearms are always treated as “loaded”.
2. Never point the muzzle of your firearm at
anything you are not willing to destroy.

 Face a safe direction n/a
 Pick-up firearm and bring to low ready
(standing or kneeling) position; draw
firearm away from the holster and
proceed to low ready (standing or
kneeling) position
 Release/remove magazine from the
firearm
 Rack the slide twice and open
slide/chamber
 Check physically and visually the
magazine well and chamber/barrel for
any ammunition; shout “Clear” after
inspection
 If there is an Instructor standing behind,
raise the firearm to head-level position
with muzzle pointed 45 degrees up/to
the sky and wait for the instructor to
declare that firearm is “clear”
 Release slide to close thru the slide
notch
 Bring firearm to high ready position and
acquire target then pull the trigger

place it in the magazine pouch
 Evaluate the type of malfunction
 Rack the slide twice (2x)
 Open the slide (open chamber)
 Check the magazine well “physically”
thru the use of finger (inserted); shout
“CLEAR” after inspection

 Check the chamber area and barrel
thru the ejection port for any slug
(visually), empty shell or ammunition;
shout “CLEAR” after inspection.
 Draw a new loaded magazine and
insert it in the magazine well
 Release slide thru slide notch
 Continue firing/engage target

In order to pass, participant must pass Activity I to VI.
