 Introduction

There are many innovations that are used in everyday life, many of them
are useful and often taken for granted. For instance, before vacuum cleaners were
invented, to clean, people use brooms to tidy up dirt and garbage. The idea to
invent a machine that would pull dirt and dust was created by a British inventor,
Hubert Cecile Booth, known today as the vacuum cleaner. Before the powerful
vacuum cleaner, there was a manually powered machine that was operated in a
very difficult way. According to the great idea finder, “The first vacuum cleaners
had to be operated manually. Two persons were needed for some machines were
too large”. Next to come was an electric vacuum cleaner made from a box, a
pillow case and a fan. It was invented by a janitor named James Murray
Spangler and was the first vacuum cleaner to incorporate a rotating brush to
loosen dirt and dust caught up in carpet. For many years after their introduction,
vacuum cleaners remained a luxury item. After World War II however, vacuum
cleaners became more accessible and more people in the middle classes were
starting to use them.
Vacuum cleaner is perfect addition to every home because it performs

expensive, the engineering class of Tarlac State of University have come up to an
idea of having an improvised vacuum cleaner in a very cheap and recycled
material type of product. It can help the society to save money and make their
non-biodegradable garbage into something efficient and innovative tool that can
help them in their household chores.
 This project will explain some of the advancements that have been made to the
vacuum cleaner over the years. It will also explain the impact that the vacuum
cleaner has had in society, as electricity was becoming available, and our cultural
need to keep things clean. This project will also explain the different designs
and why each design is better than the one before. The Vacuum cleaner has
been changed and modified to suit the people of their respective time periods
and to see how it has evolved is really valuable because this invention was
constructed by many people over time. Considering this invention started out
large and clumsy and has progressed to a light weight and smooth dust busting
machine. Finally, it will prove how the improvised vacuum will have its benefits
and how useful it is especially to Filipino society.

 Description
Vacuum Cleaner is ideal for cleaning. This recycled vacuum cleaner are
not hard to maintain you don’t have to change bags, filters and repair. All you
have to do is remove the dirt and possibly dry it. It doesn’t require too much
power and its easy to carry around by hand which means you are free to use it
to clean.
Dust in the house contains the bacteria, fungal, allergic particles, mist,
and environmental contaminants like carbon dioxide, nitrous and sulfur oxides.
Environmental contaminant concentration increases drastically in cities and
metros due to the automobiles. A vacuum cleaner is one of the solutions to get a
clean environment in the house. It helps in reducing the allergic environment in
the house. Materials flow from one location to another when a pressure
difference is created between two locations. This phenomenon is the basic
working principle of an ideal vacuum cleaner. When a centrifugal fan rotates it
makes the air to flow by adding it external kinetic energy. Air is sucked from
behind and pushed forward with pressure and so negative pressure it creates
behind the fan. An ideal vacuum cleaner has such centrifugal fan in it connected
to a motor. This unit has suction and discharge connections, on the suction side
filter bag is fitted before the hose connection. The discharge has another air
purifier filter and opened to the atmosphere. When the electric power is given
the motor rotates and so the centrifugal fan. Air from the suction side is sucked
into the unit, along with the air all air born particles, cat allergen, mist, dirt, and
small solid particles are carried to the suction filter. They are trapped in the filter
and dirt free air is pushed out from the discharge opening.
Motor, centrifugal fan, filter are three important design items to take care
of to improve the performance of the vacuum cleaner. Friction, noise, power
consumption, suction pressure are the design variables that govern
the aerodynamics and mechanical design factors. The nozzle and narrow
compartment geometry play important role in maintaining the pressure
and airflow pattern.
 Importance
One of the most helpful things that we are having right now is technology.
Technology gave us what we called this generation, the machines. Machines for
example washing machine, desktop, laptops and the rest make our daily lives
easier and more comfortable. This so-called technology introduced to us the
internet. The internet is probably one of the most used technology in our
generation of today. Since we, the generation z is one of the many people who
became the beneficiary of the internet, our group decided to make a DIY item.
DIY or Do it yourself is one of the trending today in the cyberworld. Our group
will make a DIY Vacuum cleaner. Its importance are as follows;
1. In this project or in this DIY Vacuum you can test your creativity skills.
It can also help others to enhance their talents in terms of arts and
technology.
2. It will lessen cleaning time thus it will give us more time to do other
things. It will make us more productive each day.
3. Since it is a product of technology it will also give us convenience in
doing our tasks.
