Bullying or Joke???

Have you ever wondered what is the difference between JOKE and BULLYING?

When someone told you a joke, and you got offended by it, does it mean he/ she bullied you? That
situation already made me think, what is BULLYING? And what is a JOKE? What are the differences
between jokes and bullying?

What is a joke? A joke can make someone laugh. What is bullying? Bullying is unwanted, aggressive
behavior that can hurt someone. In these definitions, we can already see their differences with each
other. But when you got hurt/offended in a joke, is that already bullying? For me, it is not, why? “Jokes
are half meant”. Jokes depend on how you understand it. Maybe the one who delivered the joke only
wants to make you laugh but you took the joke so seriously and it made you misunderstand it. But
sometimes ,jokes can also be abusive and can really hurt others . Remember that when you make a joke
make sure that it has a good impact. To make someone laugh and not to feel worthless.

When it comes to bullying, it is hurting you intently. Bullying is malicious. Bullying can hurt people.
Bullying can bring a person down. Because of bullying, many people are having behavioral or mental
problems like depression. Bullying must cease now. What can we do to stop bullying? The thing that we
can only do is to give awareness to everyone that bullying is a problem that needs to be solved.

The number one victim of bullying is the youth. In response, Stella Maris College had a seminar for us,
the youth, about bullying. This seminar was held last _____________, led by a speaker, Ma’am
___________. This seminar gave awareness to us stellans of what is bullying. What should we do to stop
this? Where can bullying happen? Who can do the bullying? What are the effects of bullying? how can
bullying be done?

This seminar shows us that bullying is a dreadful act as a stellan. As stellans, we must love and respect
each other for that is the attitude of a true stellan. As stellans, we must cooperate to culminate bullying
to prevent the situation from being shameful as it is. Bullying must cease

for none deserves to feel worthless.

As a youth, my message to all the victim of bullying is:

Even though you already got bullied or judged, never stop living your life. Never stop being yourself.
Never stop doing what you want if deemed righteous. Never end everything because someone just
judged and bullied. Don’t try to change yourself for you are perfect as you are. Don’t let the pain they
have given you affect and change yourself from who you are.
