NETWORK DESIGN
Bosch PRAESENSA
Network span
Maximum number of devices supported by a single controller is 150 with up to
90kW speaker load and 1200A/B amplifier channels.
When more than 128 devices are used (single subnet) an ARNI needs to be
added to the IP-PA system
PRAESENSA can support up to 250 zones in a single controller system.
Distance (i.e. system span) for network interconnection:
Using copper wire distances up to 100m between PRAESENSA system components.
Using optical fiber distances of up to hundreds of km. This can be achieved by using
the BOSCH SFP's. Distances depend on type of SFP and used fiber.
Multi Mode SFP’s can transfer data (light) over Multi Mode fiber up to ~550m
Single Mode SFP’s can transfer data (light) over Single Mode fiber > 10km
Zone 3
Dante channel routing is static
‒ Connections are configured with Dante Controller (fixed) Zone 4
‒ The system controller is the matrix for all inputs and outputs
‒ Dante channels are unencrypted and need to be unicast 4-ch amplifier
‒ Connections use bandwidth whether used or not Zone 5
‒ Severe limitation on system size PRAESENSA does it different

Dynamic audio channel routing Zone 1
Zone 2
PRAESENSA uses dynamic OMNEO channel routing
‒ Connections are setup by the system controller on demand Zone 3
‒ Connections are dismantled after use to free up channels Zone 4
‒ The network is the audio matrix
‒ Flexible multicast transmission (change destinations on the fly)
4-ch amplifier
‒ Network load is reduced
‒ Virtually no system size limitation
‒ Audio channels are encrypted (AES128) or unencrypted Zone 5
‒ Control data always encrypted (TLS) Zone 6
