Solution:

(i) 𝑓(𝑥) = 2𝑥 − 5 is {-2, -1, 0, 1}

𝑓(−2) = 2(−2) − 5

= −9

𝑓(1) = 2(1) − 5

= −3

 Range of 𝑓(𝑥) is −9 < 𝑓(𝑥) < −3

(ii) Let 𝑦 = 𝑓(𝑥)

=> 𝑦 = 2𝑥 − 5

=> 𝑥 = 2𝑦 − 5
