The next time came around and she asked again. The husband
looked puzzled.
“Oh, I didn’t mean the next diaper. I meant the next baby!”
Prayer for Me
One Sunday in a Midwest city a young child was “acting up” during
the morning worship hour. The parents did their best to maintain
some sense of order in the pew but were losing the battle. Finally
the father picked the little fellow up and walked sternly up the aisle
on his way out. Just before reaching the safety of the foyer the one
called out loudly to the congregation, “Pray for me! Pray for me!”
Life’s journey is all about meaning. All our efforts
and struggles are directed towards this one reality in
life. Sacrifice is not the end but the means towards this
purpose. We bear the pain and endure the hardships
because there is within all of us that constant search
for fulfillment in whatever we are doing. The world
may have its own standards of what achievements
are all about. The rewards and accolades that we
have amassed points out to one thing: meaning. The
Apostles followed the Lord with the same reason.
However, the pilgrimage will not be easy and ride may
be a bit bumpy. There is a great difference between
success and significance.

way.” Thomas said to him, “Master, we do not
know where you are going; how can we know

lonely if we are alone, much more uncertain.

this ambiguity could not be hidden in his

is not so much where we are going as who are
we with. Where they are going, He knew the
way and He will accompany them. He will
not just point to a direction but bring us to
our destination.
