Overall Lesson Objective:


I: Given PowerPoint presentation on history and purpose of posters, students will choose
a subject of their choice (sports team, artists/musicians, dance/theater, propose a
subject) using a medium of choice (acrylic paint, india ink, shapies/markers, collage, or
mixed media) and create the base for their poster to be imported into a canva layout
II: Given PowerPoint presentation on good design in posters and group discussion,
students will create a strong design for the subject of their choice and consider how to
use line, shape, type, texture, and consider how their design is affected and strengthened
by balance, unity, color/value, and contrast.

Daily Objectives:
-Given colored pencils, paint chips, magazines, glue, scissors, sketchbooks, and pencils,
students will begin to create a mood board that can be developed into a final poster
