I. VISUAL COMPONENT

What are the dominant theater elements? The theater play featured a dance
narrative of a Rajah’s unbridled lust for a fair
How are these employed in the performance? woman named Ma. Cristina.

What are the dominant principles,
conventions, or techniques that are used in
the play or performance?
It was a mixture of musical drama and
dance, and the people who played the
instruments did a perfect beat and timing with
the dance actors who performed as if they
are the real characters.The movements are
graceful and dramatic expressing full of
emotions which narrates the story to the
audience.

The backdrop changed through the use of

curtains and props were shown when
needed. The costumes’ designs are ethnic-
inspired motifs which fully expose their plight
and the richness of their culture and heritage.

What is the significance of the central theme
to you in terms of personal, historical, social,
or political value?
The theater play reminds us of the traditional
style of courtship wherein a man expresses
his interest to a woman by approaching and
chasing her without restraint over his
emotions and lust in which it lead to death.

Out of the women who admired the Rajah, he
seemed not interested on them but rather
than on Ma. Cristina. His unbridled lust for
the girl made him chasing her
