Introduction
Firefighters work closely with other emergency response agencies such as the police and
emergency medical service. A firefighter's role may overlap with both. Fire investigators or fire marshals
investigate the cause of a fire. If the fire was caused by arson or negligence, their work will overlap with
law enforcement. Firefighters also frequently provide some degree of emergency medical service, in
addition to working with full-time paramedics. It is a traditional occasion for the BFP as they award Medals
of Honor to Filipino Firefighters who have shown galantry in the act of service. This observance is in
pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 1312 issued by the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos to
commemorate the three (3) firefighters who died during the fateful fire incident at Meralco Rockwell Power
Plant in 1973.
When an emergency occurs, there is an expectation that someone will respond to
mitigate the emergency. The public expects the individuals responding to be mentally
and physically ready to appropriately and safely deal with the emergency. More
importantly, these individuals are expected to quickly recover from that emergency in
order to be ready for the next emergency. The individuals discussed here are firefighters
and at all times must be ready to immediately go into highly stressful, highly intense,
vehicle crashes, fires, gas, and utility emergencies. These emergencies can range from
the person who feels ill to the person who has stopped breathing, to fire alarm activations,
to fires. The firefighter must be fit both mentally and physically to mitigate any situation
intense stress can develop medical problems. However, stress can also be thought of as a
useful tool for firefighters. Stress from the emergency can stimulate the firefighter’s
sympathetic nervous system giving him or her the adrenaline rush needed to perform
above and beyond the firefighter’s normal ability. The sympathetic nervous system is
commonly described as the “flight or fight” response (Bledsoe, Porter, & Cherry, 2009).
This response is the adrenaline rush that pushes people beyond their normal ability.
exposure to stress has been linked to medical problems (The American Institute of Stress,

Future Researchers.
The ideas presented may be used as reference in conducting new researches related to the topic; Lived
Experience of fire Officer in Bureau of Fire Protection on Trece Martires City Cavite. This will also serve as an
overview or background regarding the factors influencing specific core values that lacks in a certain system or
community.
The research problem addressed in this study included police officers’ perceptions
of sexual offender registration as it pertains to public support of this system despite its
ineffectiveness and a lack of potential ideas and concepts to uncover possible prevention
or improvement strategies for law enforcement (Bratina, 2013; Kernsmith et al., 2009;
Powell et al., 2014; Tewksbury & Mustaine, 2013). The study was delimited in terms of
the study sample. Participation in this study was delimited to police officers who were
tasked with duties associated with sexual offender registration investigations and
mentioned delimitation influenced the generalizability of results (Yin, 2013). Purposive 4sampling compromised the
ability to apply the findings of the study to other populations.
Therefore, any results obtained from this study would only be generalizable to police
officers with sex offender registration and notification duties who work in Butler County,
Pennsylvania.4
