1. Introduction-
A integrated film studio complex with not just film making facilities
but also customer services, technical expertise, production support
personnel and comprehensive infrastructure at attracting the attention of
top film-makers,production houses and leading multinational advertising
agencies, tourism and education is known as ‘FILM CITY’.
Moreover as there is limited knowledge about the process
of film making itself,so the motive will be a comprehensive study serving
three interests-
 FILM MAKING- An understanding of film making.
 FILM STUDIO-Physical requirements with the design objective of film
studio.
 FILM CITY-Concepts behind film city which deals from production to
distributing and telecasting,tourism and knowledge.

2.Aims & Objectives-

 To develop a planning scheme which is simple and carefully defined
where the public, semipublic and private areas are.
 To achieve maximum transparency of space with intermingling of indoor
arid outdoor spaces.
 Design with combination of natural, creative, enjoyable and a relieving
casual and professional environment.
 Create another major hot-spot in film city centre for tourism.

3.Motivation-

Growing up in this era, we all are surrounded by the influences of

the media. Regardless of how contradictory it may be, the media has a
huge impact in our lives today. People have many opinions regarding
this, some contradict on it promoting low self esteem while others
appreciate it as a mode of self awareness, education and entertainment.
However large or small the opinions may be, the media, to me was
always fascinating.Fascinated with the making of entertainment,
fascinated by Cinema producing such inception of plots with such
intrinsic details however factious or not it may be.My initial thought was
just that, to show the audience a glimpse of that process. Regarding films,
there are two kinds of people. First the people for whom it is all created,
for the people who enjoy the magic on the screen in front of them. While
the other set of people are the people behind the screens, the people
that create this magic. The Idea was to create such a platform for both
the audience and the artists, celebrating the magic that is brought to us
through film making.

4. Objectives, Scope and Limitations-

LIMITATIONS-
Focus will be limited to layout the site with detail design of
various space requirements.

5. Description of the research work

 Propose a new holistic and integrated vision to inject a new sense of
purpose in the city.

 Translation and appropriation of the components of a film city in a

innovative typology.

 Creation of a contemporary icon for Indian cinema.

 Initiation and adaptation of a responsible and sustainable architecture

discourse as an approach to design.

 Enliven and transform the social and community fabric within and around
the film city.

ARCHITECTURALLY-
The art of the moving pictures could be a testing ground for new
architectural forms and concepts.Film also shapes public perceptions of
architecture. As a mass medium, film plays an important role in the way
architecture is received and interpreted.even architects are animating the
film industry.

Key features-

The reason behind choosing this site is mainly that it is sea
