Sealed beam
Accurate location of the filament at the focal point, and
elimination of dirt and moisture on the reflector, are
both achieved with 2 sealed beam lamp unit
An aluminized glass reflector, fused to the lens,
supports the main and dip tungsten filaments; the
‘whole unit is filed with an inert gas. Because the bulb
hhas no independent glass envelope, tungsten deposits
are spread over a very large area, so the light efficiency
of sealed beam unit remains high for a long period
of time.
The sealed beam unit has two disadvantages: itis
costly to replace when a filament fails, and sudden
light failure occurs when the lens becomes cracked.
