Reading:
This winter I learned to skate! A friend of mine had an extra pair of skates.
He persuaded me to go skating with
him one Saturday afternoon in
February. I borrowed the skates and we
went skating! It was cold outside! We
wore hats, scarves and mitts to keep
warm. He showed me how to put on
the skates. He helped me walk onto the
ice. He showed me how to start
moving. He also showed me how to
stop! I moved very slowly at first and
lots of people skated past me. When I
fell nobody laughed at me. Instead,
they helped me get back up. I kept
trying! Soon I felt much better. I liked
skating!

I was born in Tapachula Chiapas Mexico in 1983. My birthday is

February 14th, in Valentine’s Day.

When I was 6 years old I started the Primary School. I studied there
6 years, and it was a really great time.

When I was at home, I used to do my homework and after I used to

play with my dolls. Sometimes I used to go to my friend’s houses to

Sample letter to a friend in English - About my school

Dear Steven,
I am in the fifth grade. Our classroom is on the second floor of the school. There are twenty-
one desks in the classroom and two pupils sit at each desk. The teacher’s desk is in the front
of the pupils’ desks. The blackboard is on the wall to the left of teacher. There are four very
large windows on the side of the room opposite to the door. We open the windows during the
break between lessons. There are pictures and maps hanging on the walls in the classroom.
In winter it gets dark early so we turn on the light. We begin our lessons at 12.05. We have
five lessons a day. We have a short 10-minute break between lessons, but we have a long 20-
minute break between the second and third lessons. During the long break we go to the dining-
room and have lunch. We finish our lessons at ten minutes past five.
Convey my regards to your parents.
Yours sincerely,
Alex
