College Level Training Programme in General Informatics

Financial Assistance to Colleges

The Kerala State Higher Education Council proposes to extend financial assistance for holding 3
day training programme for college teachers in General Informatics as per the following terms and
conditions.

1. There shall be a minimum of 25 and maximum of 30 teacher trainees for a programme.


2. The teacher trainees may be drawn from the host college and other colleges within a radius of 10
kilometres.
3. The training shall be imparted as per schedule and syllabus available at
www.kshec.kerala.gov.in (Appendix 1)
4. The host college shall provide infrastructure, including computer facilities for the trainees free of
charge.
5. The Higher Education Council shall reimburse the expenses for conducting the programme
subject to a maximum of Rs.30,000/- as per terms and conditions applicable to various heads of
expenditure.
6. The colleges interested in holding the programme may apply online to the Higher Education
Council in the prescribed format available at www.kshec.kerala.gov.in (Appendix 2)
7. The last date for the submission of online application is 30th November, 2010.
8. The training programme shall be conducted only on the basis of prior sanction intimated by the
Higher Education Council and completed before 20th December, 2010.
9. Application for reimbursement of expenditure along with relevant report, list of participants,
statement of expenditure audited by a Chartered Accountant and utilization certificate should be
submitted to the Council before 1st January, 2011 in the format available at
www.kshec.kerala.gov.in (Appendix 3)
10. Reimbursement will be effected by the Council within one month of submission of claims fully
supported by relevant details and documents as above.

2pm – 3.30pm Session V : Introduction of IT in teaching and learning, case study of
educational software, academic services- INFLIBNET,
NICNET,BRNET, IT application in medicine and healthcare.
3.45pm – 4.30pm Session VI : IT & Society issues and concerns,- digital divide, IT &
development, IT industry -new opportunities and threats software
piracy, e-wastes and green computing, Impact of IT on language
& culture-localization issues- Unicode-IT and regional
languages.
Day III
10am-11.30am Session VII : E-governance applications, Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality,
Biocomputing, IT applications in business, commerce, IT
applications in industry, law, crime detection, publishing,
communication, resource management, weather forecasting,
education film and media
11.45am – 1.00pm Session VIII : Cyber security, privacy issues, cyber laws, cyber addictions,
cyber ethics, cyber crime, cyber threats, information overload,
