Water Testing Regime – District Wide Procedures

Lead Testing
• All sites are tested annually for Lead. The testing takes place in January and reported to
the Ministry of Education by March 31.
• The tests are conducted in the morning prior to use to detect any levels of lead.
• Should any of the sites exceed the maximum allowable limits, we initiate a flushing
regime. At present time, all sites have tested within allowable limits and do not require
a flushing regime. We are compliant.
• The following sites have auto flushers installed. Although we fall within the allowable
limits, the auto flushers are scheduled to flush the system at 6AM every morning. The is
an extra precautionary measure to ensure these sites are within allowable limits.

• Should any of the sites test positive, we initiate the emergency response plan to include
an immediate ‘Do Not Drink’ notice to be posted at the site and immediate corrective
actions are implemented. Re-testing takes place before notice is taken down.
• These tests are conducted at any time of the day, kept cold and delivered to NHA for
testing. We receive the results directly from NHA.
• Every 3 years we run a chemistry sample on these locations to see what the water
contain. Corrective actions will take place if there are any outside of allowable limits.
