“Movie Review of Tell Me Your Dreams”

In the movie entitled “Tell me your dreams”, When Mrs. Divina was assigned by
the government to teach on a rural place, I felt the feeling of overestimate. she was
assigned to teach in a place in the Philippines where the people are mostly didn’t
experience education. Mostly think of choosing to work on a simple livelihood on the
mountains rather than education as in is not known for them and they are not able to
experience it. From the content of the story, it shows the sacrifice and struggles as one of
the teachers that suddenly captured my interest and attention.

Being a teacher requires the heart of every person who is dedicated to teach. They
are also the ones who provide the lessons for the children to learn new things and
discover their own knowledge as they are unlock by the teachers and theirselves. They
are also the guidance of every student’s dream in the near future. That is the reason we
call them as our second parent because through discipline and good deliverance to the
lessons taught us to be mentally active and a good example to the people.

The way she did for the community, she listened and create communication to the
people just like what she did to the young boy named Toto. When she was wondering
why he was always absent, she took the courage to talk to his mother. The reason is the
chores that he will do not just in the house but also in the farm. One of these is to watch
and feed his younger sibling. Mrs. Divina also noticed that her other student always kept
on being late. She even gave a punishment to her that she made her carry a pile of books
in her hands while pointing straightforward. But then, she decided again to talk to the
child’s parents and know that most of the time the girl spends time to feed his older
brother who is blind, she stood out and nursed him. The next day she came in late again
in the class and Mrs. Divina gave her consideration to sit down as she already knew the
reason behind her tardiness and felt empathy for her. These two specific scenes remind
that not every student are able to perform well in school because of laziness, they had a
reason for it and the action that needs to do is comforting them and provide guidance to
the student. This also reminds us that the role of a teacher is just about teaching lessons
through books but also the love that they give to us student and the value that they want
us to learn have been the purpose of them especially for those students who are depressed
by themselves that needs to be comfort.

Furthermore, the motivation that the children has shown gives an inspiration to
all of us because of their perseverance to experience education and learn the value of it
despite of all the lack of resources that the government can barely support their needs in
school. Despite of their chores either on the farm or in the house they still manage to
appreciate the education offered to their community.

In the last part, as she takes her last moments in life, she showed love to his student
Toto and made him remember the love and appreciation that he will always bring inside
of him as he takes his dreams. No matter how hard it is and whatever obstacles that tries
to block his path, she made him realize to continue to pursue the passion in order to attain
the goals in life.

After a few years, Toto became a teacher that made him attain his goals and the
guidance to his community towards a good education and teach the things Mrs. Divina
taught him. The goals of his life became a reality as he gives inspiration and guidance to
the children just like how he was before to reach their own dreams.
