ABSTRACT
The Indonesian general election in 2019 is considered more tiring compared to the previous
election. Elections are held simultaneously by including the election of the President, DPR,
DPD. Election staff must complete the recapitulation of all the results of the vote, which
includes the presidential, DPR, DPD, and provincial and regency/city DPRD ballots. So
heavy, there were 486 Election staffs passed away. The timing of the vote results also requires
a long, 35-day period. While on the other hand the Election of Village Heads in Indonesia
using E-voting, resulted in public distrust of the election results. This study aims to obtain an
overview in designing policies, how the role of safety, how political processes are, and how to
solve problems.

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to explain the factors that influence fraudulent financial
statements in Indonesian banks. This research takes the banking sector into consideration that
banking is one of the industries or the most vulnerable institutions for financial incidents due
to the many regulations and financial transactions that occur in the banking sector. This study
uses banking data from 2014-2017 with a total sample of 90 banks. Data analysis techniques
are carried out using multiple regression analysis. The results show that the pressure proxied
by external pressure, which is proxied by free cash flow, has a positive effect on fraudulent
financial statements, which means that the greater the free cash flow of the banking sector, the
greater the likelihood of fraudulent financial statements. Whereas pressure proxied by
financial stability, financial targets, and ineffective monitoring and rationalization and good
governance have no effect on fraudulent financial statements.

ABSTRACT
The present study investigates the discourse functions of recurrent multi-word sequences in
computer-mediated communication (CMC) and face-to-face (FTF) interaction by a group of
student in UNIMUS over a one-year period of Blended Speaking Class. A frequency-driven
approach is employed in the identification of recurrent multi-word sequences, particularly
three-word units. I first examine the use of them over time in CMC and FTF interaction by the
two groups of participants. I then focus on the 50 most common three-word sequences from
the online and spoken datasets and from two reference corpora: CANELC and CANCODE
based on Edmodo’s Class Interaction. They are then inductively grouped into three central
categories – social interaction, necessary TOPICs and discourse devices – with regard to the
primary discourse function each sequence serves in the context.
Finally, the differing distribution of functional types in the two registers, namely CMC and
spoken communication, are explored and discussed. After all data were collected they were
classified and analyzed based on Biber’s et al (1999) corpus linguistics. This study showed
that the students used collocations, lexical bundles, inserts, idioms, and binomial expressions.
The most frequent types were collocations and lexical bundles since the students were more
familiar with literal meanings instead of idiomatic meanings. However, there were many
unnatural expressions in their interactions therefore formulaic expressions have to get more
attention in teaching instruction.

ABSTRACT
Today, there are so many student worksheets used in the learning process in elementary
school. However, very rarely worksheets are able to hone students' skills in solving
environmental problems. Student worksheets based on the scientific approach are designed to
be able to improve environmental problem-solving skills faced by elementary school students.
The purpose of this study is to find out how the validity of student worksheets based on the
scientific approach is applied to improve problem-solving skills faced by elementary school
students. The research uses development research. The technique used in this study is an
expert validation technique using predetermined validation instruments. The results of the
validation of student activity sheets based on the scientific approach showed that all
components of the validation assessment sheet of scientific-based student activities got an
average score of 3.72 or with a percentage of 90.15% with very decent interpretation.

ABSTRACT

Location of sales is one of the most important factors, in the success of selling goods. At
present, there are many business locations, in the form of new buildings that are made that can
later be used as sales locations. But in choosing the location of the sale, sometimes the
business actor does not consider whether the location will be strategic or not. So with a
relatively cheap price, the business location will be purchased without considering the
position of the strategic sales location or not. To avoid losses for business actors, the
implementation of a decision support system is absolutely necessary. This is aimed at
providing assistance to businesses to produce effective, appropriate and efficient decisions. In
a decision support system can use a method. In this study, the application of Multi-Objective
Optimization On The Base Of Ratio Analysis (MOORA) method is a simple method in
ranking alternative business locations, so it is expected that the use of a decision support
system in the selection of sales locations will provide a large profit for business actors.

ABSTRACT

Generation Y familiarly called as Millennials are people who are born between 1980 and
2000. Millennials tend to have energetic activities and gratify themselves such as doing sports
and traveling. Their consumption preference is about experience based, the trend has become
spending on lifestyle and leisure aspects. This generation is entering young adults in this age,
therefore they are the next big consumer target including in housing markets. Consumers
consider more than one thing in the process of housing purchase, a very complex decision
making activity. One of the considerations is physical factors, specifically neighborhood
facilities. Also, the factors in economy and social have an influence in it. In the other hand,
some data indicate that they have less income compared to the average. And the house price is
considered too high for their ability at the moment. The aim of this study is to identify the
types of neighborhood facilities that are highly prioritized for millenials, and examine the
correlation based on social – economy background. This study uses data collection of
distributing questionnaire with open ended answers, and coding and cross tabulation methods.
Generally, millenials have preference on open space, parks, and sports field facility the most.
This research later can be used to serve as the inspiration to determine neighborhood facilities
in housing real estate.

ABSTRACT
The study aimed at redesigning “the 21st century listening test” to stimulate students’ critical thinking. It was
a case study done throughout several phases using the framework of 21st century skills. The object was final test
of listening 2 course in Universitas PGRI Semarang, Indonesia. Documents review was done to collect the data
as well as in-depth interview, then descriptively reviewed and analyzed. Data source and theory triangulation,
also expert validation were done to accurate the data. The theories of cognitive domain (Krathwohl:2002),
listening test type (Brown:2004), and listening processing (Richard:2008) were used as the indicators. 4 parts of
questions were composed; part A (analyzing, intensive, bottom up); part B (analyzing, selective, bottom up); part
C (evaluating, responsive, top down); part D (creating, extensive, top down). The findings yielded the
redesigned listening test created more excitement through the students as well as challenging, so it was able to
force them to think critically. Hence, the boredome was shifted into curiousity. These findings may become a
model of listening test to prepare students’ readiness to face the 21st century workforce. Thus, listening will be
seen as a challenging and interesting subject, not as a subject that can be neglected and underrated.

ABSTRACT

Ecotourism is the optimal utilization of local resources. This tourism cannot be separated
from local, social and cultural economic empowerment. Today many people are interested in
doing ecotourism on their tour. In addition, to develop ecotourism activities can be done by
introducing types of food that can make tourists feel at home to keep visiting. Because
culinary experiences that are different from other regions will determine the purpose of travel
for tourists. To get experience about local cuisine is the most important thing and can
understand better about its characteristics. Slow food is a food that has a concept of well-
being and has a relationship with the cultural area of good, clean and fair food. The variety,
good and tasty food that is produced will maximize the taste and relationship with the social
culture. In this study, slow food can be used as an ecotourism destination that can attract
tourists so that it will benefit the tourism industry by using the Analytical Hierarchy Process
(AHP) method.

ABSTRACT
Indonesia is a country with the largest Muslim population with 87.2% of the total
population. With so many Muslim populations, there is a possibility that Islamic values can
affect the work environment in the form of rules applied to employees. This study examined
whether human resource management practices consist of selection, training, evaluation,
employee participation and compensation affect organizational performance. In addition, this
study also examines whether religiosity has moderation role in the relationship between
human resource management practices and organizational performance. The study took
samples from five non-profit Islamic institutions. Data processing is done by SEM PLS
method. This study shows that the practice of human resource management significantly
influences organizational performance, while religiosity is not proven to moderate the
relationship between human resource practices and organizational performance. It tells that
organiational performance is still driven by the selection process, training, evaluation,
employee participation and compensation to achieve good organizational performance and
that the employees are more motivated by the human resources management process. it
implies that employees do not really influence by their religion understanding and do not
integrate their religion into their workplace. The organization can improve the understanding
of employees towards Islam and put it into consideration in everything they do in their
workplace.

asrisanusi.lp3i@gmail.com

ABSTRACT
Electronic Performance Management is a digital-based employee performance appraisal
system. MKE contains all work plans, targets for each work unit, guidance, training, and
employee performance evaluation every month. And at the end of the month, the supervisor
must evaluate the results of their employee's work report. The system has also made
employee salaries different from each other because they are measured by performance and
target achievement. Employee achievement is a condition where the work of quality and
quantity is achieved by an employee in carrying out his duties in accordance with the
responsibilities given to him. The type of data used in this study is primary data and the data
sources used are internal data. The population and samples studied were employees of PT
Indonesia Port I Belawan Branch of Unloading Business Division (UBM), which amounted to
24 people with engineering and tool operators. Methods of data collection in the form of
questionnaires and observations. The results of the coefficient of determination analysis show
that the independent variable (electronic performance management) is able to explain the
dependent variable (employee performance) of 64% and 36% influenced by other factors. The
results of the t test show that the hypothesis H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted which means
that electronic performance management has a partial effect on employee performance with a
value of 6.257 ≥ 2.074. The result of a simple regression analysis of th is study is that there is
a positive influence between electronic performance management and employee achievement.

ABSTRACT

In a dynamic business environment, firms face increasingly high complexity and

uncertainty. This change requires firms to respond differently taking into account both the
environmental changes and complexities (environmental uncertainties) and the dynamic
capabilities of the firms in coping with the environment or even in shaping the environment.
Consequently, many firms do the organizational transformation to the renewal of their
strategies. Even though, the organizational transformation can make an ambiguous
organizational identity. Yet, the ambiguous organizational identity can direct managers to the
wrong strategic actions which are contrary to company goals. Conversely, a strong
organizational identity will increase employee commitment to achieve company goals and
finally will improve company performance overall. Thus, the organizational identity should
be managed properly to strengthen organizational commitment in achieving company goals.
This research examines the effect of organizational identity to strengthen the organizational
commitment on PT Telkom as one of large firm in Indonesia This research examines the
hypothesis by using SEM PLS. The main findings of this research indicate that
organizational identity is strongly related to organizational commitment. This result has
theoretical and managerial implications. Theoretically, this research enriches the
organizational identity concept and managerially gives direction to managers to strengthen
organizational commitment. Thus, managers can create a strong organizational commitment
by creating a strong organizational identity.

ABSTRACT
The needs of sharia-based higher education is now a urgency in Islamic financial
institusions in Indonesia. Some higher education institution have been offering Islamic
finance and economics program to young talents in order to meet the needs of capable human
resource. This study examines whether social cognitive career theory (SCCT) and religiosity
have an effect on career preference of students of sharia finance and economics program. The
SCCT covers 1) intrinsic motivation that represent self motivation to be expert in knowledge
related to sharia, 2) extrinsic motivation that put work place, salary and respect of sharia
expert as the motivation to take sharia higher education, 3) third party influence include the
family and friends, teachers, media, supervisor and environment, and 4) career awareness that
motivate students to choose sharia institution as their career after school. Religiosity describe
how deep the students understanding Islam as their relition. The hypothesis was tested using
stuctural equation modeling (SEM) method that was processed using Smart-PLS application
using 325 samples of sharia finance and economcs students in Indonesia. The test finds that
three of the four SCCT variables i.e. intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, and third-party
influences have an influence on career preference, while the other one of SCCT (career
exposure) and religiosity have no effect on career preference. It implies that sharia finance
and economics education institution should maintain high motivation of students as well as
good influence of external and environment towards the students motivation to have career in
Islamic institutions. Furthermore, it should introduce the career and job more better to
motivate the students to choose sharia institution as their career. TOPIC that strengthen their
knowledge of sharia and philosophy of finance and economics in order that it motivate them

ABSTRACT

Data reduction technique is one technique that can be applied to get a reduction representation of a collection
of data whose volume is much smaller, but still maintains the original integrity of the data. Attribute reduction is
a process to identify and eliminate an attribute with irrelevant or excessive values. In this study, attribute
reduction was carried out using the Chi-Square Algorithm which was implemented in K-Nearest Neighbor
(KNN) for classification on objects based on training data that was closest to the object. Tests were carried out
on the Pima Indians dataset totaling 768 data. The Chi-Square method is used to reduce the dimensions of large
datasets and can help improve the accuracy of the prediction of the closest K-Nearest Neighbor results. KNearest
Neighbor using Chi-Square as a choice of features proved to be accurate and effective in reducing data. These
results prove the increasing level of accuracy of the two algorithms without reducing the integrity of the original
data and does not reduce the quality of the information produced.

ABSTRACT
Interlocking concrete block is a new concrete masonry unit that is used in the construction
industry. This masonry unit can improve the quality of the construction process; reduce the
cost of labour, no need high skill workmanship and speeding the construction time. Normally,
the interlocking concrete block masonry unit in the market place was designed in one way
interlocking concept only either x or y-axis, shorter in length and low compressive strength
value. However, the biaxial interlocking concrete block is a new concept being introduced in
this research. Biaxial interlocking concrete block is a block with the interlocking system at
both directions. Besides that, this masonry unit is offered the specialty compared to the
normal interlocking concrete available in the market place due to its length and the geometry
of the groove and tongue. This concrete masonry unit can be used as a non-load bearing wall
or load bearing wall depends on the application of the masonry. But, there is a lack of
technical data was produced before. This paper presents a new finding on the compressive
strength of biaxial interlocking concrete block masonry unit. Two series of biaxial
interlocking concrete block unit namely BICB1 and BICB2 have tested the compressive
strength. BICB1 is the masonry unit of a hollow biaxial interlocking concrete block
meanwhile; BICB2 is the masonry unit of groove infill interlocking concrete block. The
masonry unit sample tested under static compressive load. The results examine that BICB2 is
higher in compressive strength compared to the BICB1. This result shows that BICB2 is
better than BICB1 especially in load bearing wall application.

caused by contraction and relaxation muscle activity. This article provide numerical study of
the classifying the electromyography signal for wrist movement combined with open and
grasping finger flexor. The EMG signal has recorded using a device called electromyography.
It has acquired by attaching an surface electrode in the skin then the electrode was capturing
the raw signal. The volunteer involved were six where each volunteer has ten datasets the
EMG signal. The surface electrode are sticked in the lower arm muscle. The EMG raw signal
was processed using zero-mean normalization. The feature extraction method is root mean
square (rms), mean absolute value (mav), variance (var), and standard deviation (std). This
EMG signal has been classified by naïve bayes classifier. Training and testing data was using
5-cross validation. The result indicates that the classification accuracy for classifying the
EMG signal for wrist movement combined open finger flexor (OFF) and grasping finger
flexor (GFF) is 70% and 75% respectively. Therefore, the EMG signal can be applied for
identificating of muscle disorder, prostheses hand and biometric system.

ABSTRACT
The kidneys are one of the most important organs including the excretion system in
humans. The kidneys are responsible for maintaining blood concentrations to remain constant
(homeostatic) and help to control blood pressure (BP). If the task of the kidney is not
functioning properly it will cause kidney failure. In the past decade, data mining methods
have been used to diagnose kidney failure. The dataset used to predict kidney failure was
successfully summarized by Soundarapandian, and was named the Chronic Kidney Disease
(CKD) dataset. But the data in the CKD dataset contains missing value and high dimension
data (original data) so that it affects the evaluation results on classification. This research
proposes methods in preprocessing data, namely every class mode (MEC) method to solve
missing value problems, and the weight information gain method for solving high
dimensional data problems, the proposed method is named the MEC + WIG method. The
MEC + WIG method will be compared with the original method and the MEC method and
evaluated based on the accuracy of the traditional classification method (k-NN, Naïve Bayes,
C4.5, and CART). The results showed that the average accuracy of the MEC + WIG method
was better than the original method and the MEC method, with the average accuracy of the
MEC + WIG method at 98.13%, while the average value of the accuracy of the original
method and MEC respectively amounting to 88.56% and 92.88%. There were significant
differences between the three methods when tested using Friedman test with a p-value of
0.02. It can be concluded that the MEC + WIG method can improve the performance of
traditional methods k-NN, Naive Bayes, C4.5 and CART by overcoming the problem of
missing value and data high dimension

ABSTRACT

Gas is a molecule that is not bound, formless, invisible and can turn into search or solid at
certain temperature pressures. LPG gas is one of the needs for industry and household needs,
namely for cooking. LPG gas in Indonesia is the cause of many fires, a factor that often
causes LPG gas fires is a damaged gas regulator. Therefore prevention and security are
needed to minimize fires. Seeing this and given the technological developments, an intelligent
Arduino-based device was created that was able to overcome this problem. This tool is
equipped with MQ-2, SIM800L, and buzzer gas sensors. In an embedded device the system
that can convert input data received from the sensor Mq-2 sensor works to detect propane and
butane gas, then the system will send the actual data in the form of short messages (SMS) to
the mobile number that has been registered into the system. Besides being able to send SMS
the system also emits a sound that is generated from the buzzer

ABSTRACT
Segmentation in images of abdominal CT scan is an important step in the processing and
interpretation of medical images. This is not easy, because the organs are close together and
the color intensity is similar. Various methods have been developed, but the problem of
locating the position of the backbone is still difficult to solve. The purpose of this study is to
develop a segmentation method to determine the location of the backbone using a
morphological method with a binarization approach. Testing of 11 CT Scan images shows
that the method developed can determine the area and position of the backbone. Thus, it can
be concluded that the method of backbone segmentation using a morphological method with a
binary approach is successfully developed so that it can be applied to the advanced analysis
process.

STMIK Pelita Nusantara

haito_ita@yahoo.com

ABSTRACT
The development of a unique database catalog of face recognition students begins with
storing the results of real time recordings of each face. Moving image processing uses
continuous moving images such as recording live video as a data set. From the results of
facial movements, face traking was obtained to find out the facial position and face
recognition to recognize the face. Face tracking uses the CamShift algorithm to identify skin
color. Stages are started from image acquisition, preprocessing, filtering, extraction, then
image matching. The CamShift algorithm detects and tracks objects that have color, if the
object is similar or similar to the color of the face image. Data set as many as 30 faces with 2-
3 seconds video duration. The value of facial features will be matched with the face image
database, if there are similarities with the largest value between querying the face image in
the image database, the student who is known is similar to one of the students with the
greatest similarity. Students who have been identified will be stored in the catalog if they do
not do looping for face image retrieval again. The results of face recognition from the
CamShift Algorithm continue to crop the face area with openCV. The Mean Shif algorithm is
used to determine the XYZ value of the video movement, giving rise to special characteristics
of the face image that has been convoluted to the kernel using the Gabor Wavelet method.
This study will produce information on image histogram and skin color based on the value of
Hue, Saturation, Value (HSV). The results of identification of unique facial features and
gesture detection are displayed in the database catalog application. The final goal of this
research is to match training data with data sets based on facial motion.

ABSTRACT
In the field of cryptography, the key and procedures for converting messages into secret
messages have a very important role. The key strength used in the encryption and decryption
process affects the ciphertext's resistance to cryptanalyst attacks. The RSA algorithm is a
modern cryptographic algorithm that uses public keys and private keys to encrypt and
decrypt. The p and q random numbers used in the public key and private key are generated by
the Cubic Congruential Generator algorithm. The results of this study can be seen by testing
the resulting ciphertext. The results of ciphertext trials that are resistant to cryptanalytic
attacks certainly indicate the strength of the public key and the private key that is built. The
ciphertext test shows that the percentage of complexity is equal to 59%. From this study, it
can be concluded that RSA key security generated by the combination of the Cubic
Congruential Generator algorithm belongs to the good category.

ABSTRACT
ZOOM Fashion is a business engaged in the sale of clothing, which is currently
undergoing development and is in great demand in the community. In these companie,
performance improvements are needed, so companies must be more careful in buying clothes
to be resold in order to find out which clothes are of high quality. Yoon and Hwang
introduced Topsis in 1981 for the first time. TOPSIS uses the principle that the chosen
alternative must have the closest distance from the positive ideal solution and the longest
distance from the negative ideal solution from a geometric point of view by using the distance
between two points to determine the relative proximity of an alternative. this method is very
well used for the completion of fashion selection. this research is expected to help in
determining quality clothing in accordance with the fashion needed at this time, so that the
existence of this system makes it easy to find out the needs of the community in the field of
clothing.
