1. How did you get into sociology?

My name is Asad Ali. I have done my intermediate in FA. My major subject was sociology as
sociology is my most favorite subject I chose it as my professional degree too. Basically I like
to know how societies work together, how sociologist interacts with societies and how they
form a better society. I really wanted to get into this field as this is vast field. Sociology is just
not a subject but it has a diversity which spreads over the world. Sociology helps us to make
our societies better, gives us information about how can we live in our societies with rules
and regulations and what actions we can take to form a better environment.

1.1 Careers in sociology

Sociologist not only study about their own society but they do study about all the societies in the
world. They not only study just the betterment of societies but they do study norms, symbols,
values and cultures of every society as sociology is not only concerned with only value but it
is such a diverse field that a sociologist study. Sociology graduate can opt many fields in
future as they can become guidance counselor, human resources representatives, lawyer,
media planner, and management counselor as they can form their own nongovernmental
organization where they can do a lot for the betterment of society.

2. Unexpected experience you had regarding the campus life at quaid-

i-azam university, Islamabad?
Unexpected experience of mine was beggars around everywhere in the campus. This thing was
very attracted toward my eyes that I didn’t feel this to be inside our campus. There are also
unexpected activities including drugs, smoking, animals gazing inside the campus, beggars
vending flowers, tissue and many things inside campus. These things should be avoided and
be removed from the campus. University management should take strict actions toward this
issue and policies should also be made to stop entrance of these people inside the campus as
they interrupt the environment of the universities. In campus there should be totally
cleanliness and the peace full environment is needed. As there is animals dung everywhere on
the footpaths, in front of classes, in front of main café. These things should be outside of the
university and varsity should make strict policies and actions toward this crucial topic as they
are disturbing our campus’s environment.
