Anchor 1: Robredo accepts drug czar post, Despite warnings from her supporters that
she is being set up for failure, Vice President Leni Robredo accepted yesterday President
Duterte’s challenge to lead the war on drugs.
Robredo said she intended to curb drug killings and to hold accountable not only
drug smugglers, large-scale traffickers and “ninja cops” who recycle illegal drugs, but also
those behind rights abuses in waging the war. The vice president also called on Duterte
to work together and use the remaining two and a half years of their term to address the
drug problem. That’s for the National news.

Anchor 3: Coming off another landmark year in 2019, Asian martial arts powerhouse
ONE Championship looks to put on even more events in 2020, including two stops in
Manila, Philippines in the first half of the year.
The Philippines has been a regular stop for ONE Championship in the last few years,
with the promotion regularly holding four events in Manila, with each event being a sell-
out card headlined by big-time fights.
ONE Championship looks to continue the trend in the coming year as they head to
Manila twice within the first five months of the year, with the first event on January 31st
and the second on May 29th.
Apart from Manila, ONE will be setting up shop in usual locations such as Bangkok,
Thailand, Singapore, Jakarta, Indonesia, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
ONE will also be heading back to Tokyo, Japan on April 5th and to Ho Chih Minh,
Vietnam on March 20th, as well as to Macau, China on May 15th. That’s for the sports
news update.
