will be subjected to various tests which will make it undergo real life situations. If your object passes the tests, you win!

Format:
Participate either in a team of 2 members or by yourself. You will not be given any outside physical assistance.
Reinforcements (steel, wire mesh etc.) are not allowed. Design sketches need to be submitted along with the actual

Mind Your Machine

“Mind and Machine” the two strongest entities in this universe. Imagine both of them working together hand in hand! If you
think you have the Da Vinci in you, then buckle up to face the challenge of “Mind Your Machines”!

FORMAT
This event will comprise of two stages:
STUDENT BRANCH , MANIPAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

Stage Mind:
The code provided will have certain clues leading to specific parts of the text wherein you have to find variables and compile
them to derive a formula. For example, the clues provided will direct you to a certain page, line and word where the variable
lies. If you succeed, you level up to stage two.

Stage Machine:
Now you come to the stage where you calculate the values of the variables using laboratory machines and equipment of your
branch and other branches as well. (For example, calculating the least count of a certain instrument.)
The team which derives the formula with correct values of variables in the least duration emerges as the winner.

Rules And Regulations:

1. Each team will comprise of a maximum of two members.
2. Members of the same team should be from the same institute.
3. The decision of the judges will be final and binding.

Photo-Quest
Do you find the movies like “The Adventures of Tin Tin”, “Indiana Jones” fascinating?
Do you feel like being a part of one of such treasure hunts? Try Photo Quest!

FORMAT
The entire event will comprise of 3 rounds.

Round 1: Aptitude test

In this round, the general ability of the teams will be checked based on an aptitude test. The top ten teams qualifying this
round will reach the knock-out round. The questions in the test will be purely mathematics and logic based. Duration - 2
hours

Round 2: Make it fast!

This round will comprise of 4 levels. In each level, the teams are expected to complete certain tasks assigned. The top five
teams completing the task will make it to the finals. The key to this round is that the venue where the teams will be
performing the tasks will have to be first unlocked based on the clues hidden in the photographs. These photographs will be
pertaining to buildings/landmarks in and in the proximity of the MIT campus.

For example: in order to show the innovation centre, figure 1 could be shown which would highlight the feature of that
particular building.

The figure 2 is a picture of a power house in front of library. The photo itself depicts the “power” house.

Round 3: Slow and steady!

Top 4 teams qualified up to this stage would now face the race against time. If played steadily the round would yield good
fruit, but the same may turn into blunder if played hastily. In this round, the teams will have to accomplish the final task. They
will have to find the unknown relation using the resources given to them. These resources include various photographs, age-
old maps and of course, the internet. Using these, they will have to derive and justify a relation. The first team to complete
the mission wins!

RULES
 Number of participants per team: 2 (maximum)
 The decision of the judges is final and binding in all aspects.
