According to tradingeconomics.com, the unemployment rate in the Philippines rose 
to 5.1 percent in the last quarter of 2018 from 5.0 percent in the same period a 
year earlier. The number of unemployed persons went up by 17 thousand to 2.20 
million while the number of employed dropped by 218 thousand to 41.33 million. If 
millions of Filipinos are unemployed, tendencies are the poverty rate in our country 
will increase.  
 
Knowing how to make yourself be a self-employed worker is a small act yet a big 
impact in making our economy grow. ​Self-employed is a situation in which an 
individual works for himself instead of working for an employer that pays a salary 
or a wage. A self-employed individual earns his income through conducting 
profitable operations from a trade or business that he operates directly.  
 
The process is simple: First, you need to conceptualize what will be the content of 
your videos. As much as possible, choose something that you are passionate about 
because it will eventually appear natural and enjoyable to your subscribers. Second, 
invest to your equipments. Select a camera that will be serving you a good quality 
videos because having a good video quality matters the most as everyone likes to 
watch video in HD. Third, Make quality videos. This is the time wherein you make 
videos. Fourth, be creative in editing your videos. People don't like to watch long 
boring videos, so try making your videos short and crisp and also try a good reliable 
video editing software. Fifth, think of a unique title and thumbnail. This is the most 
important aspect. The tile of your video should be attractive and same applies to 
the thumbnail. And lastly, broadcast yourself. Be in touch with the people who 
watch and comment on your video and they will help you in making more views. 
 
 
 
In uploading you videos on Youtube, you need at least 4,000 watch hours in the 
previous 12 months and 1000 subscribers to start earning money. To monetize a 
video after it has been uploaded, open your Video Manager and click the “$” sign 
next to the video that you want to monetize. Check the “Monetize with Ads” box.
