Inquiry Module Reflection

Peer Feedback

My peer feedback was helpful to read and helped me change things wrong with my

project, but I did not have enough time to revisit the IgnitED Labs to change some of the things

that were said. There were also positive comments made on my project which helped encourage

the ideas I already had written on the paper. These positive comments showed that I was not

completely misunderstanding the project, I just needed to focus a little bit more on certain parts

of it.

One of the pieces of feedback I received said I should focus on the dangers of the

technology even outside of the classroom. While reading the instructions of the project, I felt

constrained to talk about the use of the technology in the classroom, but I hardly even thought

about what it could have been used for outside the classroom. I chose not to change my project

because I believe I was following the project requirements, but it did open my eyes to think

about how these new tech gadgets can be used in the real world, and not just how they can be

used to teach children.

Implementation of Feedback

After receiving feedback, I did not have much time to change the constructive criticism,

however I did take it into consideration and chose not to change most of it because my project

followed the rubric. I was able to modify small grammar mistakes and repetitive sentences,

however I was not able to change stuff that required me to revisit the lab. If I were to do this

project again, I would for sure use the constructive criticism that asked about how it can be used

outside of the classroom, and write more about that in the project plan. The constructive criticism

was very helpful to me to show what I was doing right, but also help in my understanding of the

project and what I might do in the future.

Learning Reflection

If I am being completely honest, I put this project on hold because I was stressed with

other homework at the time, and was confused by the directions. This meant that I had to wait

until I visited the IgnitED Labs until I could actually write the paper, which put me behind

everyone else. Because of this, it was hard to fix a lot of the feedback I had received from my

peers. If I could do this project again from the start, I would have gone to the lab the day it was

assigned just to get that out of the way, and write the project plan as soon as possible. This would

have allowed me to receive good feedback that I would have time to fix later on. I would have

also asked more questions at the beginning since I did not fully understand the directions. I

thought I would be bugging the professor by asking questions, so I decided to stay quiet which I

regret now.

Alternative Use / Future Directions

All of the technology that I explored in the IgnitED labs was relatively new and I had not

used it before. It was a little difficult to fully understand some of the things, especially the

Artificial Intelligence DIY kits. However, I do think that AI is important and will be used in the

future for many things. Going into the project I really had no idea what AI could be used for

besides humanoid robots, but now finishing the project I realize it can be used for many other

things, like calculating math problems that would be almost impossible for a human to solve.
