ROLE OF STREETSCAPE IN SHAPING URBAN DESIGN

ABSTRACT –

City streets are the most comprehensively scattered and seriously dealt urban open spaces. As urban
networks try to upgrade conventionality in the collected condition, it is basic for organizers and planner
to have a compact understanding of what adds to the nature of streetscapes. Roads are an indispensable
piece of any city's open space framework. They work as development hallways for walkers, cyclists, travel
and vehicles, just as help numerous social and business exercises. The nearness and character of the
avenues assume a gigantic job in deciding the general quality and livability of the city. The paper analyzes
the presence of road components clearing, road trees, medians, lighting and road furniture; when
connected after some time will advance the visual picture and urban plan of the city. It further focusses

5. CASE STUDY –

NEW MARKET, BHOPAL [MADHYA PRADESH]


5.1. STUDY AREA DESCRIPTION –
The examination zone chose is New Market (Roshanpura) situated in
Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. It is one of the major urban lanes of Bhopal
having business qualities. The degrees of the territory are Bhadbadha street
on the West, T.T. Nagar square on the South, Station Road on the East,
Roshanpura Chowrah on the North. The roads encompassing the region
significantly watches every single business movement and onstreet

5.2. ROAD TYPOLOGY –

• Small trees or grower can be placed in the open zones for better nature of air in the district.

6. CONCLUSION –

Streetscapes are the most abundant and scattered urban open spaces. They are where a critical piece of
the life of a city occurs. Streetscape components contribute indispensably to the utility of urban roads as
