College is a big change for any student.

For a student with a learning disability this


transition can be even more overwhelming as there are more hurdles to jump than a
student without a learning disability.

Students with learning disabilities are not any less capable than their non-disabled
peers when it comes to being successful in college, however most students with SLD
do not attend college or are not successful, with successful intervention and support,
your child can and will succeed in college.

There are three components to know to help make the transition to college.

• Encourage your
child to know their
strengths and
