INTERNSHIPS
Essar Oil Limited, Vadinar Refinery, Jamnagar
(06/2014 – 07/2014)
The part of internship included the overall process view of Essar Oil
Limited, their off-shore product handling facility at Vadinar Oil Terminal
Limited and Salaya Port Limited, crude intake underground pipeline,
which is 22km far, from VOTL to Vadinar Refinery. PIT( Product
intermediate tank) and COT( crude oil tankage), for finished product and
crude oil storage respectively. The delayed coker unit, which converts
vacuum residue into higher value products like gasoline and gasoil, has
an annual capacity of 7.5 MMT. Overall working and view of CDU, VDU,
sulphur gas unit, NHT(naphtha hydrotreater), crude catalytic cracker(
CCU) and visbreaker unit( VBU), fluid catalytic cracker unit( FCCU)and a
diesel hydro desulphurisation( DHDS).The FCC and DHDS plants were
modified so as to be compliant with Euro III and Euro IV fuels standards.
