The Egg Yolk

“As I reached out to knock on the door, it opened and there I am,” says Robert
rememebering his first meeting with Eddy in the movie documentary Three Identical Strangers.
There are so many questions that really came up to my mind after watching this movie
documentary such as what really makes us a human? Is it still imporant to find distinguishing
factors of nature and nurture? Is it a good fact that to debate the dominance controlling our
behavior like DNA that will have an extraordinary effect in our life. The story itself has a lot of
facts that will intimately made the story more reversible meaning it’s not just an ordinary story
just like what we have seen in other cinema movies and so on. This story is a forthcoming, it’s
like a novel which there’s a creative author who literally thinks out of the box and can make the
readers flabbergast. In terms of main characters, Eddy, Robert, and David were adopted by
different families and social classes when they were babies. The movie itself said that they
possesed the same complements of genes as young as adult. They were the same person trebled,
as one commentator put it. One of the main interesting plot of the story is the past or the story
behind of the seperation of the triplets, the uniting of their diversity, and feelings became one
that may lead to prosecution of their lives. The unexpected moment that they haven’t waiting for.
They realize that everything may fall into place, they’ll move froward. Holding each other’s
shaking hand, but they really don’t know what the destiny really wants to take just the life of
their brother, Eddy. I think one of the critical point of the nature and nurture persdpective is the
impact of the genetic influence of triplets, the environments that shapes up their behavior, the
parenting style that parents is resposible, the attaiment of the self-esteem of each other. Acording
to the movie, only their close genetic heritage couldexplain their powerful similarities, but still
they ended up by having very different outcomes in life. Based on my undestanding, the
problem that I can sait is that the researchers are trying to separate the environmental issues – the
nature and nurture, we can compare this to a egg, they can’t just separate the egg yolk (the
genetic factors) and the egg white (the environment) of environment, they are perfectly
combined to each other and cannot be sepearted without finding some way to uncook your egg.
Another line that made a mark in my life is that they were treated like a lab rats. The adoptions
were carried a secret study by a psychoanalyst Peter Neubauer, he wanted to search the influence
factors of genes and the environment itself. As a person that has a great spritual concept, I think
the separating of these childrens at birth is like a bird on a cage. They already killed the concepts
of those children to know their own identity just like that Psychoanalysis of Eric Erikson where
he stated that identity is very important to child since he or she will asked theirselves the role of
them in the society.
