This article is about Alta Vista which is translation website. It is invented by Systran for

decrypting document of Russian during the cold war. Most my sources that I already have

are current one but this article is published before 2000. Old sources have a other good

points compared with current one. I didn’t know well about translation website except

Google Translation so this source is good for me.

This article is about the translation service which is invented by Korean nonprofit

company. It says when foreigners need help of talking to someone, if they choose the

language from some of them, a server can connects to a volunteer translator. After that,

they can speak directly them. Some translation services which I already know can

translate but we have to tell someone by ourselves but this service doesn’t impose to tell

someone upon us. I got new information about technology of translation.

This article is about translation mistakes by translation technology. When the big typhoon

hit Japan, a Brazilian got email that “You have to seek refuge from typhoon, so go to

around the river.” But this is mistake because the river is dangerous because the water

level rose. Now still sometimes translation technology make mistakes. This fact can

support my argument “For now human should translate ”

This article says translation is difficult because translation is easy for translators. It means

they can translate without thinking deeply, but if they do so, the translation will be not

good. So they have to make original sentences to be better than original. I have thought

translation is just difficult before read this article, so I was so surprised. In addition, I

could know how difficult the translator is.

This article is about why Japanese is difficult. For example, it doesn’t have indefinite

article, plural form, and future form. So translators have to analyze the meaning of the

original sentence, and convert grammatical construction when they translate Japanese to

English and vice versa. Indian and European languages don’t require that method. I could

know the exact reason why Japanese is difficult. Also, I understood why the translation

technology make mistakes with those languages.
