When there’s no more time for you to
review what you do is you scan your
notes. You only search for the important
terms and disregard other information
which you think is not relevant.

And today, we will tackle scanning and

the correct ways to do it.

There are things that we usually look for

in a text and the common among these are
the names, date, time.

What should you look for when searching

a name?

That’s right.
Capital letters ma’am
And also, don’t forget the abbreviations
like Dr. and Atty.

Same with months too. You should look

for capital letters.
How about when searching for a date,
time, amounts and prices?

Very good.
You can also look for symbols like a peso
or a dollar sign.
We should look for numbers
ma’am.
Take note also of the punctuation - words
inside quotations, commas dashes and
parentheses when scanning for details.

For example you were asked “what did

the doctor said to his patients?”, what
should you look for?

Very good. In a text, statements which

are said by someone is usually placed
inside a quotation mark. So quotation
mark will be your clue.
We should look for a quotation
mark.
